I lost $150 on a three-teamer in the NFL on opening weekend, but bouned back to win $125 this past weekend.
I didn't wager on the NFL in week 2, the money I won was in a pool at a bar (imagine that). I went 10-1 picking NFL winners and 2 other guys did too. It came down to the MNF total. I guessed 44 and the other guys had 42 and 51. Thanks to a scoreless 4th quarter, the game ended 28-16 (44 total) to help me squeeze out the win.
My strategy for tie-breaking totals has been to use the number in Vegas. Worked perfectly this time.

If I get a new job, I might get back into this. Right now, just don't have the cash or the itch to gamble right now.
There are some interesting lines out there right now. VT is favored by 7 over Clemson and the over/under is 51. GT is only favored by 10 of NC State. Wisconsin I think is 9 over Nebraska.
Right now my gut is thinking Wisconsin/Nebraska will be close. I really like the +10.5 for Auburn against South Carolina, -2.5 for Texas A&M at home vs. Arkansas. These are for my Pick 5 pool, where if I hit five picks against the spread or over/under, I get a share of a $600 weekly pot based on how many get 5.
My picks for that pool are:
+10.5 Auburn vs. South Carolina
-2.5 A&M vs. Arkansas
STL/WAS (NFL) - Under 42.5
MIN over KC -1.5
MIN/KC - Over 39.5
Won the bar pool again this week. I went 10-2 (missed on the Eagles and the Bills). Unfortunately, only 12 people entered this week so I only won $60 (in Week 2, I won $125).
All told, I've put in $20 ($5 per week) and have won $185. So, I'm +$165. Good start, I just need to get more of the local idiots to get back in the pool so I can take more dough when I win.
