In contrast I should have 12 returning players that are 90+ with a possibility of 3 more depending on how they progress, and a lot of guys in the 80's.

I should have only 1, maybe two guys returning that are already 90+ overall. But I have quite a few soph that are in the high 80's that should bump that number up to close to 10 once next season starts.

I only have five players over 90 OVR and four of them should be gone, and maybe, just maybe Kenny Stills declares for the NFL Draft. I have a couple freshman and a few sophomores who should be 90s next year.

Michigan must have had a young, young team. I remember you having a pretty craptastic first year of recruiting, so to have a lot of 90+ going into 2013, you either got really lucky or had a lot of youngsters in the beginning.

I did have a lot of young players, but after this season I will only have a handful of players from the original roster. I've cut most. My year 2 recruiting class is the one making up the bulk of the 90+ players. They will all be true Junior's next season, so the following season if they stay I may have a team like Papa's Bama teams from last year.

Ohio State's got a decent amount of 90+, at least prospective. Only one (90) that's returning, but a handful that are practically guaranteed to hit 90 during training.

You and I had, overall, similar Year 2 recruiting classes. Interesting how yours has panned out versus mine. (Though upon further review, I was ranked lower than I remembered. Maybe you had a much better offseason recruiting in Year 2 than I did) I think having to recruit a boatload of WRs in Year 2 hurt my overall team.

I'll have to take a look at my depth chart to be more accurate....but like Oneback....that year 2 class will have a ton of sophomore redshirts and true juniors starting. My default freshman class was loaded at WR and LB....I see Mike Davis and Jordan Hicks trying to leave for the NFL with the seasons they're having....

Everybody returns except my LT, top DT, SLB....

Starters who are scheduled to return:

    2 redshirt freshmen (QB, RG)

7 sophomores (RB, FB, TE, RT, DT, top CB, FS)

11 juniors (top 3 WRs, LG, C, both DEs, WLB, MLB, CB, SS)

I can realistically expect all of my starters to be 90+ overall except whoever takes over at LT and DE....but both spots should have a [5star] taking over including junior DE Reggie Wilson if he doesn't improve on his low pass rush & block shed ratings.

Needless to say....I'm very excited for the offseason.

    LT Bryan 93
    LG Williams 89

Here is a breakdown of what I am looking at next season:

HB - Nick Cleveland, 94 OVR: #1 HB recruit in season one. Has been a starter since three games into his true Freshman season. He'll be a Senior next year if he returns.

QB - Devin Gardner, 92 OVR: Leftover from the original rosters, this is his first season starting and will be a RS Senior next year.

ROLB - William Logan, 92 OVR: #1 OLB recruit in season two (Offseason). He has been a starter at MLB and ROLB since the day he got on campus, he'll be a true Junior next season.

OC - Bill Sykes, 92 OVR: #1 OC recruit in season one, backed up for one year and has been the starter the last two. He'll be a true Senior next year.

P - Will Hagerup, 92 OVR: Leftover from the original rosters. If he returns for his RS Senior season he will both kick and punt.

DT - Jesse Williams, 90 OVR: #4 DT recruit in season two (offseason). He has been a starter at DT since the day he got here. Started off his freshman season with 10+ sacks, ending the season in the top 5 in that category, has his a Sophomore slump this year with only four but has contributed in other ways.

FB - Justin Heard, 89 OVR: Transfer from Notre Dame last year, he'll be a starter next year as a RS Junior.

CB - Cullen Christian, 89 OVR: Leftover from the orginal rosters and has been a solid contributor, he'll be a RS Senior next year.

LG - Greg Buchanan, 89 OVR: a true Sophomore who has started at LG since the day he got here.

RE - Chris Haynes, 88 OVR: was a backup last year as a Freshman but has exploded onto the scene this year with 8 sacks.

RG - Tyler Keyes, 87 OVR: picked up in last years recruiting class as a JUCO and has performed well as a backup, he will be a starter in his Senior year next season.

OC - Fred Manning, 87 OVR: #1 OC recruit in season 3, he will compete for the OC job with Bill Sykes next season. He has performed well when he has been on the field as a RS Freshman.

LOLB - Ricky Woods, 87 OVR: #2 OLB recruit in season 2, he has manned the strongside linebacker position since day one and that does not look to change next year in his Junior year.

    Other noteables:

DT - Richard Ash, 86 OVR, Junior (RS)
QB - Brian Young, 86 OVR, Freshman (RS)

There are 7 others in the 80 to 85 range that with a big progression should be at or close to 90 OVR. There could also be a few recruits that come in rated in the low to mid 80's.

For the first time in this OD, I should be able to man an entire offense and defense with 80+ OVR talent.

    I lose:
Starting FB, MLB, C, LT, LG DE and CB
    Backup QB
    Decent PT OLB
    Backup DT

    I'll return:
Starting QB, top five RBs, all WRs including award hopefuls Stills and Erik Richardson, top TEs, two starters on o-line

I'm giving serious consideration to starting my Wildcat QB, Nicholas Johnson, next season at true QB. Just based on the ratings, he has no chance, but on the practice field, he seems to make better throws than my other two options.

He'll likely be starting the bowl game to see how he performs in a real game situation.

After further review... Johnson is the better under center passer whereas Hunter is the better shotgun passer. I'll be curious how they each develop for next season, though I expect Johnson to go largely unchanged since he was a [1star] athlete.

seriously any recommendations for the job search besides doing all of the university sponsored events? I have 2 job offers right now from family which is nice to have in my pocket but actually talking to faceless corporations is daunting.

Im about to finish a Finance degree from fsu, I have also taken basic sales and am now taking an advanced sales class with hands on instruction and video playback on 'real' cold calls etc... which should really help me in whatever Job I land. Right now I have an offer to sell bonds (corporate and muni) at 100% commission, or to sell aircraft parts (for an un stated salary at this time). This may seem weird but I repaired avionics equipment at an intermediate/component level for 4 years)

Id like to avoid new york city at all costs, and the middle of the country . The Northwest/texas/parts of NE/ and southeast (except jacksonville, fl GROSS) are all on the table. I also am a very good traveler, living in germany/japan for a combined 1.6 years and also staying in SE Asia for over a month. I do not get culture shock and like meeting foreigners.

I guess my main worry is the same as any younger person coming out of college jumping into the real world as far as the job market, and not being protected by my military contract that enslaved me to my job :p

The university events are usually pretty decent but they typically get a lot of traffic so you need to really standout. At PSU we actually had some smaller major specific specialized ones and I know a lady used to get inquires to the Supply Chain Department from companies that they used to send to all of us in the major. Those typically are your best leads.

The other thing would be eye up a couple companies that you seem interested in at the sponsored events and then check out job listings yourself for them. Careerbuilder, Monster, etc are hit and miss.

ah cool, yea this advanced sales class seems like a dream come true. (i guess the sales team won the national title whatever that means) and has been great the last few years so the teacher gets calls all the time asking for the names/#s of kids taking their advanced sales class (does not even have to be on the team)...also as part of class we are required to attend the smaller meet and greets that they set up for the sales kids (which i am not but i sneak in via the class)

Do you recommend something like LinkIn? supposedly the facebook for job hunters or something.

That's cool. Yeah those people calling on the department and those meet and greets are your best bet. I think I had 3 job offers from people that called into the department but had to turn them down as I wanted to stay in State College.

I'm in sales now and it's actually getting tough, everyone wants experience, but it sounds like FSU has some strong ties so that's a definite positive. You willing to move to Central Pa, I need an assistant?

I've heard a lot of good things about LinkedIn. A number of people here are actually on it and try to connect with customers. I haven't signed up yet but I get requests all the time from my customers to sign up and friend them(or whatever it they do), I think it must pull people in their contacts and send out invites, but from the volume I get a lot of people are on it.
