I'm not complaining about $45 at all. And while I appreciate that Charter is slowly increasing the price rather than going from Year 1 introductory rate to full price in Year 2, it also makes me wonder just how much the full price is going to be. When you advertise $30/month Internet all over the place, it could be construed as misleading (at the least) if the final price is closer to $100. But I've paid decent chunks of change for Verizon FiOS, so I'm willing to spend on my net, especially now that we pretty much use Netflix and Amazon for all our entertainment.

Is this like a "Bizarro" JBHuskers?

My grandma just passed away about five minutes ago. She had a very long battle with dementia so it wasn't a sudden thing. She fought for a very long time and made it to 89.
I spent a lot of time with her growing up as Mom took care of me by herself for many of my grade school years. I spent a lot of New Years Eves at her house staying up late to watch Dick Clark and eating Chex Mix; which was something I usually only ate on New Years as a kid. My love of game shows comes from her too. We'd watch all morning and afternoon everything to Concentration and Price Is Right to Press Your Luck, Scrabble, Joker's Wild, High Rollers, Sale of the Century among many other shows. Of those game shows, we watched Wheel of Fortune all the time and she got me the board game. We would play it on the kitchen table all the time.
Since my uncle is mentally handicapped, he lived with grandma up until she had to go into a home. That's where I started watching wrestling at 5:05 on Saturday nights with the NWA and WCW as Jerry is a big wrestling fan. That would be where I would become fans of Ric Flair and Sting the most. My best grade school friend Chris would come over all of the time too and we'd play Super Nintendo, endless hours of Mortal Kombat II while grandma wondered what the hell it was![]()
I remember getting an allowance from her every week, and I would ride my bike right to the convenience store to buy a pack of baseball cards. Or in the late 80's I would buy a lot of the Batman trading cards from the movie or the Desert Storm trading cards. She would walk with me to Steinhart Park to the pool where I would get completely fried and my back would be peeling from being out too long. We'd go out to Arbor Lodge a lot too and walk around.
It's a very odd feeling because I have such a small family, so dealing with death of a family member is something that has rarely happened in my life, but I'm okay, and have a lot from when I was young to look back on.
The dude abides.
My condolences JB, she sounds almost exactly like one of my Grandmothers and the relationship we had. Game Shows (she never missed Wheel of Fortune & The Price is Right), UNO, Lawrence Welk and I can still smell the Strawberry Eggo's for breakfast when we spent the the night. She has been gone for more than 20 years but like yourself I have a small family and plenty of memories. From what you wrote about her, she will not be forgotten and is in a better place.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother, JB. It's good that you have so many good memories. If there's anything I can do, please let me know.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother bud. Your memories are amazing.
Like sf, if there is anything I can do don't hesitate to let me know.
I'm so sorry to hear that man. It sounds like you have a LOT of great memories from many years of growing up around her, so you'll have plenty to remember her by and look back at those years. It'll be tough for a while, especially in the coming days, but those memories will help a lot! As everyone else has said, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. You and everyone else helped me out during a rough week or two last August when I lost my grandmother, you'll for sure have all of us here for you now as you deal with this loss.
Thanks guys! You're right BD, a lot of the same kind of memories there.
The dude abides.
JB, my condolences. I've only lost one grandparent, though, similar to your situation, he had fought an illness for a very long time.

With about a week to go until its been a year since I quit my job and went full time in business for myself, we had our biggest day yet yesterday. We acquired 5 properties (all residential) at yesterday's foreclosure auction.
I couldn't be happier with where the company is today and where its headed.
