Maryland takes down Sparty 38-27 in East Lansing. The Terp defense brought the heat and ended the game with 5 different players combining for 8 sacks. True freshman SS Justin Smith had 2 of those sacks to go along with 9 tackles and 1 pass deflection. The effort was a bright spot for Maryland fans as it has been a long year for the defense. With so many young players being forced into action so early, the fan base should be confident that the unit will get better and better. The offense was once again carried by the running game. Taking care of the football was also big, as the Terps didn't turn the ball over for the first time in a long time. Maryland will return home for their last 2 regular season games. They will welcome Rutgers to College Station next week.
