I prefer a dedicated remote so that I don't have to keep re-waking my controller to pause, etc.

Fair enough. I can see your point, Tommy. It's just not enough of a motivator for me, I suppose.

I get using it alot. I just don't see the point of another remote when the controller does the same thing.

    To each, their own.

That's where I'm in luck, at least with Xbox One. With Kinect, I need only say "Xbox Rewind", "Xbox Pause" and "Xbox Play" and I'm good to go.

But, I do remember having to continuously wake up my controller on 360 to pause or rewind, so I can see where it would come in handy in that case.

When you have a beer in one hand, it's easier to naviagate with the bluetooth remote

I doubt that I've had even ten beers at home in the last year. My drinking is done away from home.

Just saw a headline on my phone that Bioware is now strongly considering bringing Mass Effect to XB1.

I think it would be PS4 as well.

With all the DLC included and prettier graphics, I'd hit it again.

Anybody get the new update yet? I just looked up the numbers online and on my console, my OS version is still showing as the previous update. If it had started rolling out yesterday, I'm surprised it hasn't shown up on my console yet. Usually it shows up without hours of being released for my consoles (360 and One).

Do you have it on energy saving mode or instant on? If you put it on instant on and then turn the console off, it'll automatically start downloading it after a few minutes. Mine did so last night.

Yeah, I have it on Energy Saving. I'll have to give it a try. I just figured it would prompt me to install the update as soon as I turned on the console (like it did in previous updates), but I've turned it on probably three different times since yesterday and nothing has popped up yet. When I get done on the One, I'll switch it and see if it downloads.

What I do is switch it over to energy saving, turn it off, flip it back on and change it back to instant on, turn it off. I'll wait about 5 or 10 minutes and then the light on the Xbox One will start flickering. Turn it on and you'll see the green status bar. This one was much quicker than all the other ones - took maybe 5 minutes. Everything is much smoother and the friend's list/party system is much improved.

They've been teasing external storage coming in April, so hopefully that's true. Aside from the ability to stream media from a PC, they've implemented most of the stuff I was missing from launch.

Well, you were right. I switched my power mode to Instant On, turned it off to watch some shows recorded on my DVR earlier tonight, and within 5 minutes the light was flashing, presumably downloading the update. I haven't turned it back on yet to confirm, still in the middle of a show, but I assume that's what it was as I've never seen the light flash before now.

Still at a loss though as to why that is. Two days in a row of getting on my One, turning it on multiple times in those two days, and it never once prompted me for an update. But the instant I turn it to Instant On, which enables automatic updating, 5 minutes later it's updating. Rather odd to me.

It's because in instant on, when you turn it off, it immediately looks for available updates. I don't know how power saver does it. Hell, instant on wont work for me unless I turn the power saver on, turn the system off, then turn instant on back on and power off. It's really dumb. There should be just an update button that allows you to search for an available updates.

It fucks up matchmaking in games, too. I couldn't connect to anything last night on Garden Warfare, and I know it's because I was one of the early ones to get the update and no one else had it.

Oh well, hard to be mad with Dolby Digital support finally. I forgot how good it sounded.

Well, I'll have to remember that in the future. I prefer to keep it on Power Saver, so next time an update rolls around (hopefully you're right about April and the external storage), I'll just throw it onto Instant On and wait for it to find the update.

Now just to wait for the update to the Twitch app, supposed to by Tuesday to coincide with Titanfall, so I can try out broadcasting on Twitch (with Titanfall as my first experiment at it).

I think my tipping point to get one is if they provide the XB1, Titanfall, and Forza 5 for $399. Something like that.

Not for sale, but pretty much confirms all that shit that guy leaked. I posted all the info a few pages back. He had a mockup that looked JUST like the real thing. Basically confirms Halo 2 Anniversary this year along with everything else.

Also, BULLSHIT at them not selling this. I'd buy it in a second.

Well, I think I'm all set to stream on Twitch. I had an account set up as SmoothPancakes, but for some reason it kept constantly jumping from Twitch to Justin.tv when I tried to go into my settings or channel. So I said fuck it, deleted the account, and created a new one called SmoothPancakes1. If I can find someway to re-register with SmoothPancakes, I'll go back to that account, otherwise I guess I'll be rolling with SmoothPancakes1 for now.

At least I'm set up and all ready to go for when the new Twitch app drops next week, so I can try my hand at streaming for the first time ever with the beautiful Titanfall.
