Firmware 4.50 enables all users (not just PS+) to set up automatic downloads of firmware and patches. GREAT feature.

Well I decided to do a little bit of a switch. Still getting the PS3 but selling my 360 and games.
So I am just going with Bat Shit Crazy.

Just got back, the trade in took awhile as I had a ton of 360 stuff and wanted to try and pay for everything I got today. Came up $30 short but I was actually happy with my Gamespot experience, a rarity for me.
Only bougt two games back NCAA Football 14 and GTA V from my 360 library (though I bought the GTA 500GB system so it was a wash). Got Uncharted 2, 3, The Last of Us, MLB 13 and they actually had a used copy of NCAA Basketball 10 for $30 so I did a happy dance as that sucker is hard to find and hard to find cheap. Did away with all other sports games. Will start buying those again once I get a PS4. The great thing is I can put this in my bedroom once I get a PS4 so I can have the two NCAA games whenever I get the itch.
Going to Pre order Beyond: Two Souls and I might pick up the Flower games (can't recall the other titles from the same team that made this) I do hope to pick up the Hot Shots Vita golf game they just released on PSN for the PS3.
* If there are any other PSN exclusives that I have missed in the past two years that are good let me know.

Will do but I had to get Rain and Hot Shots World Tour First. On a side note I did not want Flower, I wanted Journey. Already played Flower. Not to mention the lengthy installs and patches to the games I already have. I do hope the PS4 learns from the 360 to make patches quick and downloads not require a second "install" step.

Oh how I missed you Hot Shots Golf. So much more fun than TW and it does so many little things like multiple camera options on the fly and picking up grass to check the wind speed. If you loved the previous HS games download the digital version of the Vita game. $20 and there are 8 courses (plus mirrors) and 1 additional DLC course that was really sharp.
Anyone familiar with error code 80029564? I have two games that will not let me install the updates Uncharted 3 and NCAA 14. Ironically NCAA started out as another code (timeout error) and then turned into this. Both crash at 14% everytime now and I am started to get a little agitated having spent 6 freaking hours doing mostly install and repeating the two above. I was using wireless which appears to be some issue with Sony but I even tried wired and no change.
Probably want to change your ports that are open on your router.

I still believe that because of some server issues you are downloading corrupted files. I just did some research around and it points out this way. Did you do port forwarding on your router? ?t might help.
Sometimes what happeens is when the server is really busy you download a file. You see that the full size is downloaded but it doesnt install because the download was corrupted. probably this is happening to you now.
Try again tomorrow. Download and install. Delete the broken downloads from your PS3.

I have tried everything, port openings, went through tech support, etc. Nothing works and it might just be best to wait a day or so and see if it happens again. I would consider another router but my other wireless toys are just fine.
Delete the game data for the game that's having problems. Go into your recovery menu and Rebuild Database. Reboot and then try to download it again. It does that shit to me ALL the time, especially on big downloads. Really annoying.
Did that with Tech Support (recovery menu and even went straight wired) and no luck. I delete the corrupt data every time I try.
Did you delete the actual game data for the game though? I'm not talking about the corrupted data, but rather the file under the Game Data folder. If you're trying to get the update for Uncharted 3, make sure there are no files for Uncharted 3 in that folder. After that, then Rebuild Database and try again.
If you've already tried that, then waiting a few days is probably your only option. Never heard of rebuilding the database not fixing that problem before.
Everything NCAA 14 and UC 3 related are deleted each time. We rebuilt the database and something else from that menu, nada, squat.
Damn. Sorry to hear about your issues man. Thank god MS never went a route like that with the 360. Just download and ready to go. If Sony does the same thing with the PS4 like the PS3, that might just eliminate the PS4 from future consideration to purchase.
It was the thing I hated when I owned my previous two PS3's but that was just the large ass install files for game updates and having to download and install things. I never had any of these error messages before.
Vita is the exact same way with downloading and installing. I'd say it's 50/50 with whether or not it's that way for PS4.Damn. Sorry to hear about your issues man. Just an update after multiple calls to Sony Tech, formatting my HD, going into safe mode for the umpteenth time, I finally got the NCAA 14 patch to download and install.
Not the traditional way but actually downloading an update in the background.
