Unboxing video that confirms every Xbox One console comes bundled with a headset. Good news, I guess, if only so I don't have to read the Sony loyalists around the web use it as if it's some advantage that one consoles comes with a cheap $3 headset and the other doesn't. Now they both do!

    Still not using either one.

He's mostly just messing around, though. There's people out there that act exactly like he does (mostly worse), and they're dead fucking serious. It's truly sad as hell.

If it was an attempt to be messing around there would be signs of humor, unfortunately with each post CLW makes, Dane Cook is just another step further away from being the most unfunny person on the planet. Imagine if you dare an unprotected orgy consisting of Kevin Butler (Sony Ad), Saul Goodman (Breaking Bad), Archie Bunker, Ann Coulter and Michelle Bachmann. That is the mental vision I get with each post he makes.

I can't wait to get my paws on this controller. Hopefully it works on PC, too.

Looks like my PS3 controller after I throw it down on the floor and pieces go flying everywhere.

Microsoft has spent more than $100 million on designing the Xbox One controller. It sounds like an extraordinary sum, but that includes the design of hundreds of pad prototypes, thousands of hours of user research studies, and creating new tooling and construction facilities. The project dragged on for two-and-a-half years.
    Holy hell.

Agreed, the current controller is just fine and really only needed a better D-Pad. Why spend all that money on what is the best console controller on the market.

Since Kinect must be plugged in for the Xbox One to function, what happens if your Kinect breaks? Like if it falls off the top of your TV onto a hardwood floor or something? Will the console cease to function?

WHITTEN: Xbox One is designed to work with Kinect plugged in. It makes gaming better in many ways – from the ability to say “Xbox On” and get right to your personalized homescreen, to the ability to control your TV through voice, Smartglass and more. Kinect allows you to search for your content, instantly move between games and your personalized dash and more with just your voice. Kinect helps you pick up and play by automatically knowing which controller you have in your hands. No more need to interrupt your friends game or navigate through multiple UI screens to sign in and tell the system which controller you are holding. It will even bind the controller to the console if its currently unbound – no searching for special buttons! Of course – these are just a few of the system wide benefits of having Kinect. Games use Kinect in a variety of amazing ways from adding voice to control your squad mates to adding lean and other simple controls beyond the controller to full immersive gameplay. That said, like online, the console will still function if Kinect isn’t plugged in, although you won’t be able to use any feature or experience that explicitly uses the sensor.
Kinect NOT required for console to function after all. Now I wont have to listen to any of the asinine "someone is spying on me" BS anymore.

It was never confirmed one way or another. People just assumed because of the way Microsoft worded it in their infamous after conference interviews. I've always assumed that it's going to be bundled with every console but it wouldn't actually be required to be used, which is what it appears to be. Same thing with the indie stuff. The only things that were ever announced and later reversed were the online check, installing of every game + family share (both awesome features), and that they're bundling some cheap headset.

Some believe this means a $400 model is coming without the Kinect, but I don't think that's the case. It's great that it's not required, but I think they're still going to bundle it because they've already said that they promised developers it would be included with every console so they take advantage of it.

It wont. I'm still bitter they removed the family share and installing of every game and not needing the disc. If they change that back to how it originally was, I'll sleep great.
