Maybe 46% of real men don't want to play video games or only play PC games? Why is it Wii if it's not XBONE or PS4?

    I was being sarcastic.

I'm sure a lot of that 46% simply doesn't play games at all, and if they do, it's on PC or smartphones. I can't imagine a whole lot of manly men being interested in Nintendo products. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised that a combined 54% of people they polled even want a next gen console. Seems high to me.

Hopefully you can install retail discs to the hard drive so that it doesn't have to read the disc while playing. I truly did not appreciate having to replace 3 PS3s due to broken bluray drives. I don't think I ever had any of my systems overheat, though.

That should be at the top priority actually...heat does terrible things

Is the YLOD due to overheating?

I've had one YLOD and one blu ray drive go out in the 7 years I've owned a PS3.

Yes, YLOD is a direct result of the system overheating. It was mainly a problem with the fat models. The slim and later super slim I've rarely heard anything regarding overheating problems.

Never heard of the drives going out.

Yeah that was on my fat. My slim had the blu ray go out. Never overheated, it just gets damn hot on the back of the system.

Damn OU what were you doing to your drive?

I only play/played games on mine.

Ever since the PS played DVD's I never used it for it's other purpose. When I get a PS4 I'll use the PS3 for blu-ray maybe. I order most of my movies on DTV

Sony is very, very good at keeping all this stuff quiet. I've had 3 go out - all bluray drives. In all 3 of my cases, I was playing a game, the game froze and I had to reset the PS3. When it booted back up, the disc wont show up on the XMB and you can't play it. Virtually all of my friends have had this happen, too. Hell, one of them never got his replaced. He just buys games digitally off the store.

Nothing. I religiously take care of my electronics. They were just cheap pieces of junk. I've had my current system for awhile now, so I'm hoping I finally got a decent one. I never had this problem on 360, but again, it lets you install discs to the hard drive so that there is no need to read the discs.

I also had my PS1 and PS2 for ages and I never had any problems with either of them either. PS3 just didn't like me I guess.

Hell, I still have my PS2 slim to use to play the old PS1 and PS2 Final Fantasies. My fat PS2 eventually had its drive go bad, and therefore had to replace it with the PS2 slim, but the slim is still chugging along all these years later.

IOU's PS3s crapped out on him b/c Sony knows he's an XB fan boy. I've had my fat ps3 since launch and no problems even with TSA dropping the damn thing on tile floor on two occasions.

Considering all 3 of the bluray drive breakdowns were within a week of the warranty having expired, I've always kind of had this in the back of my mind. One of the ones I have now is around 3 years old, though, so it appears I've finally gotten a good one. I also have a super slim as a backup.

Still not a fan. Hopefully you can use custom backgrounds, which would make it a lot better. That screen with the chat is especially nauseating. Bright pink, green, and blue backgrounds with white text?
