Nah, just a dumbass who somehow set my catching adjustment to aggressive when I meant to set it to conservative at the start of the game.

Much better now that my receivers are actually trying to make catches. No more drops since then, just completed pass, bad passes and passes broken up by the defense. Though I think I am going leave my sliders from '13 dead and buried and stick with jaymo's sliders that he created for the demo. I'm liking them so far. May end up making some adjustments here and there, but they're making for a fun game against Utah so far.

Ok, that statement is valid when it comes to defense. I just got torched by Utah's QB for a 57 yard touchdown, missing four different times while trying to tackle him.

Sure, this literally my first time playing defense since NCAA '12 came out, since I've been nothing but an offensive coordinator in '12 and '13, but wow, that was abusive.

If all that has been chopped for a sole focus on wins, that sucks. I liked having to meet the slew of contract goals, it made the season more of a challenge because I had those goals in the back of my mind every game I went into. Now if all I need to do to be safe in my job is meet Utah State's target of 6 wins per season, well that's no fun.
Head coaches goals are wins and recruiting. Coordinator goals are stat-based.

Get used to it. I've put up 600+ yards multiple times already using Texas Tech against much superior teams. The pass defense is just atrocious and when you're willing to mix in a few of the overpowered read options, you've already got yourself an impossible to stop scheme. I don't think I'm even going to bother with online this year. Considering how much it annoys me having to score every single time to win a game, there's no point.

KR/PR Interference penalties set to 100 works.

I just punted the ball and the Utah punt returner called fair catch. That didn't matter to one of my players as the returner caught the ball, only to be instantly leveled by my player, called for PR interference. I would probably be pissed, but my guy absolutely leveled the shit out of him, causing me to jump to my feet and let out a loud "HELL YEAH!"

Yeah, I knew there was a bunch of stuff last year for head coaches, like finishing in the Top 75 or 50 or whatever, finishing in the top 4 of your conference, winning X amount of games, the various recruiting goals, etc. But at least thus for '14, all I've seen of a coach contract is that I'm expected to win 6 games a year based on the historical benchmark from the last 30 years. Other than that, I don't see a single damn thing regarding goals that I need to meet like the last two years have brought.

Yeah, I may need to do some editing to the CPU sliders.

At least so far, early second quarter, it's been a decent game. I'm winning 14-7 (thanks to an interception returned for a touchdown), I have a 6 to 4 edge in first downs, Utah has a 120 to 110 edge in total offense. I've punted three times, they've punted two times. So it's a pretty decent game going on so far, with Utah the somewhere superior team. I'm definitely forced to battle for my yards and points with the current sliders I'm rolling with. Some fine tuning both in terms of sliders and maybe some changes via patch from EA, and I could be happy with the gameplay of '14.

Game is solid IMO, better than I actually thought it would be.

Presentation is actually good IMO. By that I mean as far as how the stadiums look at various times of the day, the colors, camera view, etc. I'm not talking stat overlays or replays, or camera angles in the huddle. Just pure visuals. I played a game yesterday at LSU around dusk and it looked great. So to me the visuals stand out and look good. It makes you feel like you are in a college football environment. But this next thing IMO hurts the Presentation of the game

Sound, can barely hear it. I always turn the crowd volume up to 100 and take everything else down. In previous versions it was loud and you could really feel the crowd. I remember playing games where I had to turn the volume down because the constant noise was getting to me lol. Not this version, even though the commentators say "man this place is always loud", etc...yet you can barely hear them. It's a shame too because the camera angle in previous versions didn't make you really feel like you were in a college football atmosphere. Now they fix that, but then the sound takes it away.

Gameplay, the frustrating parts are the Read Option being so effective and lack of Defense against it...as well as Defense as a whole. The "superman" trip tackles are rather annoying as well. I will say I am glad they finally added a slight delay to the way the screen flips on turnovers. It was entirely too fast previous versions which made me actually run the wrong way after the fact.

All in all I could really enjoy the game and have fun playing it, just don't know if that warrants enough for me to purchase it. I could eventually deal with the Read Option and the lack of Defense since I covet Defense over Offense and really focus on it, as well as other things I'd get use to. But the crowd volume takes away from the game. You give me that along with the current Presentation and I'd likely be sure to buy the game.

This game would be amazingly great if there was better pass defense, toned down read option, & that shoe string tackle animation was toned down. Besides that, I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Oh and I've never ran back or nearly ran back so many kick returns throughout the entire NCAA series combined

    On Heisman difficulty.

I should have 5 more kick return TD's than I currently have (3) in 7 games. But I got caught with one of those trip tackles by the last guy who I appeared to be 5 yards in front of atleast.

That isn't the problem. The all at once great pancake blocking by my return team is.

You'll have to do a manual search for it throughout the afternoon. It'll probably be up a few hours before the whole store updates.

Found a glitch btw. Playing online in a really good contest, which ended bad. I throw a pass to the front corner pylon, it was picked off (sideline pick animation), just a beautiful sequence. I wasn't mad. But, when he tip-toed out of the endzone, it gave my opponent a TD, rather than a first & 10 from the 20, he then was able to kick the extra point. Luckily, I don't take ranked games super serious. Can devs forward this along please?

I like the shoestring. Don't think it's over the top (yet). I agree with the read option needing to be toned down.

You must not have been tackled by one of them 35 times when you should have had a TD or at the very least 20+ yards or more.

Not to mention these 35 times the defender has been at best 6 feet away or 5 yards away from the ball carrier

    Hurdle to counter the shoestring.
