looks pretty sweet, does it save in a format that is easy to use? could i play the files through my ps3 which is linked to the pc hard drive?

i mean it would be easy just to run an hdmi cable from my computer to the big screen and skip the ps3 media player option all together, but i like the integration and 'remote control' i get with the ps3 since the controller is with me on the couch.
either way i think this is on my wish list now, ive been wanting to record football games/tv shows on my own for a long time
Yes and no. It's in a format that is easy to use with Sony products (hence Sony Vegas editing software) and would work well if you put the files straight onto the PS3, however it's not very friendly with most other products. For example, you couldn't play it with Windows Media Player (hence not easily able to share it to your PS3 via network). The format (h264) is starting to used more but it's far from a common one at this point.
ahh, when you buy this thing, does it come with the media player to play it so that i could run HDMI cable back to the TV from the PC to watch it then/?
I believe you can use K-lite to play the files with its media player and even make it possible for Windows Media player to play them. I could be wrong but I was sure that K-lite was able to handle the extension.
I've been slacking but here is the 2nd quarter of my game with Tex. I use the HAVA unit and its not all that bad
Use VLC Media Player to play any type of media files. Also if you download TVersity, it works as a streaming software for the PS3 so you would be able to stream the Sony file to the PS3 over your network.
I meant to record our game in the Rose Bowl but after all the problems we were having I forgot to start it.
g,
What are your pvr capture settings? Are you using Vegas as well to edit?
Man Skip I think if I would have scored after that INT it would have been a diff game. But it was a good one
Yeah man I honestly felt when I was down 17-3 after that int-TD that I was going to get blown out. Then when I threw that other int I just knew u would score again. I watched that 2nd quarter over at work and thought how the hell did I win that game. Definitely was a great game man. I'll try to get the rest up
FSU, fyi, the HDMI output on the PS3 has built-in copy protection that can't be worked around. So HDMI can't be used for any kind of capture ... not sure if you could use it with Windows Media Center type stuff though (like Video-in on your computer).

hmmm, so how do u capture the games??
im about to just direct connect my pc to the tv anyways since the new video card i have has hdmi out dual monitor support, i assume i can capture HD stuff from my cable box easily enough.
I believe everyone that captures uses component output. Or maybe video out from their TV, if possible.

ps3 only has hdmi output which u can convert to component i thought?
PS3s have the same additional output that PS2s had, for composite or component.
