According to Wikipedia's list of PS4 games, they will be.

wow that seems a little scary to me. watered down versions again? granted there is still 5 months left but that seems like a rush to me especially with very little detail given about features/gameplay on any of those titles.

There's a good chance that they've been in development longer than you think.

Pretty sure Cam Weber went on record as saying that Madden will be full-featured... that probably means the same exact franchise mode as current gen but it will have those features available.

I assume they have been working on them for years now. IMHO 14/25 for PS3 isn't much more than a roster update and a few small tweaks giving NCAA Madden's last year's physics so they have to be doing something over there. They also aren't hyping them at all leaving me to believe there will be a BIG PR push this fall for everyone to go pick up PS4/XB1 titles.

Well that would be good to know. I had already planned on picking up PS4 Madden but only if there was at least the same franchise/owner mode as PS3 (and assuming no BS DRM).

Yea that would be an issue in the night time . But maybe it an be turned off. We will have to wait and see. I'm super excited to get the ps4. I've been a long time PlayStation owner since the Ps1. I just can't pass the upgrade with it only 399$

It doesn't seem as bright as the 360 light. Seems pretty dull with the cover on it. The 360 drove me nuts when the battery would be at half and that thing would constantly cycle.

it's "funny" and "sad" all at the same time. my newphew likes video games but at 11 obviously doesn't follow it all that closely. he just likes the show; ncaa and nascar and few other games as well.

i could easily see him not bringing it up as a want item for christmas until the last minute. he didn't even have a christmas list thanksgiving until i finally lawyered it out of him.

parents will then scramble fights will ensue. i really don't want my mother getting mugged over a ps4 or out driving around all over earth trying to find one so i wanted to make sure she got it ordered and can avoid the chaos that is undoubtedly going to ensue.

    Yeah it really is

Talking to my friends online, they think they will just be able to casually stroll in to buy one like they said they did for PS3. Well the PS3 was going for $600-$699. Alot of people were paying that, buit alot weren't. $399 people will definitely shell out for it

You should tell your friends they are wrong. The impression the local Gamestop gave her was that they are basically going to be sold out for them at launch and don't know when/if/how many they are going to get after that.

I suppose it all depends on how well production is going.

Yes you can play any offline game anytime with or WITHOUT + or being connected to the internet.

Its the whole IOU v. CLW thing. Basically, he was confirming its CLW. A PS4 game will play offline if it has an offline component regardless of how the game was purchased.

So unless EA decides to take away offline play for NCAA/Madden etc... there will be 0% chance they can stop used games on PS4.
You're reading way too much into what Sony is saying about how their system is built. Let me ask you a question, if you're so convinced publishers wont be "allowed" to implement a serial code to lock the whole game and can't require at least an online check at the beginning of the game, why wont EA come right out and say no DRM? Online passes are gone, so why wont they say it?

I don't know how many different ways I can say this. Quit listening to Sony. When they speak about this stuff, they are ONLY talking about how they designed their console (no restrictions but open to publishers to decide) and how they will work with their first party studios (no online passes - but never mentioned anything else).

If publishers want to block offline play, they still can. I think you're putting all your eggs into the PR babble Sony is saying and ignoring the blatantly obvious facts that what they say isn't the entire story.

Absolutely ANYTHING they say about 3rd party publishers is horseshit because they've already said they're not going to dictate how they design their game.

I've heard that some GameStop's are saying the XB1 will be out on 11/21 (expected based on website), but that they think the PS4 will be out before that as Sony is looking to undercut Microsoft in every way possible. I don't know how much stock I'd put in it, but that's what I have heard.
Based on this post and what others mentioned I'm good.

That is my thinking. And they never can produce enough for the demand that it has. They make 1 million, demand will be for 3 million, etc

I can understand wanting or needing to hold off. But if you plan on getting one and don't think you have to pre-order. In the words of

Well this gets back to that whole disagreement you have about supply v. demand. I don't think a publisher is dumb enough to try what you are saying. The absolute reaction on the net has been positive to Sony's ("Just like PS3" policy). EA (some other publisher) does something like you are suggesting there will be an absolute shit storm on the net and sales will plummet on PS4.

I mean you have seen the reaction pro PS4 and anti XB1 since the policy was announced? Just imagine what happens when a publisher says nope you cannot trade this PS4 game in or play it used. People will freak the F out (unless the game is a "legit" online only type game - MMO).

IF you are right and EA does it with NCAA saying you have to be "always online" (by either eliminating all offline modes) or some dumb bs code blocking used games they lose me as a customer. I'll play other games and I'll enjoy the PR nightmare they will have inflicted upon themselves.

I'm not saying they WILL. I'm saying they CAN. I think you're assuming that because they can, I think they will, and that's not the case. I do not know whether publishers will do this or not. I do, however, know that they have full capability to do so if they want to.

But, it's clear that EA at the very least, is looking over their options. Wasn't that the assumption you reached whenever you read that interview I posted? He absolutely would not come out and say anything about it, so you know it's definitely being considered.

I've seen the reaction on the internet, yes. I've also seen the Xbox One completely sell out in under 24 hours, so that tells me the people bitching are such a small portion of the potential consumer base that they should be ignored, quite frankly.

Now, will people freak out? Yes, but it still wont affect sales. People freaked out about the online pass and that didn't affect sales, either.

I doubt many games will go to the constantly required to connect thing, because that just seems dumb (and even Xbox One isn't doing that). However, I could see a one time use code that blocks the entire game until entered. It would work like the online pass now, only when you get to the main menu of the game, if you don't have the pass downloaded, you don't play at all. They truly wouldn't even need to do anything special, because it could be implemented just like an online pass. I'd say that's the most likely scenario IF they do it.
