When I pre ordered from Amazon last night it said nothing about it being the launch edition. Does that mean I won't be getting it on/around launch? Or does it mean that my pre order is considered launch day since I locked it down last night?

You have Launch Edition.

To double-check, go to this page and select Launch Edition. At the top it should say "You purchased this item on June 10." You shouldn't see that when the Standard Edition is selected.


I've heard that some GameStop's are saying the XB1 will be out on 11/21 (expected based on website), but that they think the PS4 will be out before that as Sony is looking to undercut Microsoft in every way possible. I don't know how much stock I'd put in it, but that's what I have heard.

It worked for me when I tried it. Like I said, last night I saw nothing about a launch edition and BAM, I see it tonight when I folllowed CDJ's instructions.

Cool. There is ZERO difference in a "Launch Edition" and the "Standard Edition" on PS4 (I believe there is for XB1) Amazon just needed to distinguish that they can no longer guarantee release day delivery

GS has the release date for the One as 11/21 as CDJ said, but I believe that's placeholder. I personally believe it's launching with Call of Duty to help sell the system. My guess is first week of November. Sony should be around the same time. Neither one of them is going to give each other much of a head start.

Yeah I would expect within the same week they both launch but I don't think MS can allow Sony to undercut them again. They are already beaten on price and PR coming out of E3.

Sounds good. I went ahead and traded in my PS3 this evening. After all the trading in I did today, I only owe $162.13. Not bad for paying nothing out of pocket.

Yep, I did last night. Hard drives are also user replaceable.

I'll have to get an adapter for HDD transfers in the future, and for charging the bluetooth (assuming they're compatible for the PS4).

On the flip side, the Xbox hard drive is NOT user replaceable (as in, you can't use your own drives AND you can't even access it period). However, unlike with the Xbox 360, you can use external hard drives, so storage shouldn't be a problem on any system.

How is being able to finally use external hard drives a knock against them? Not being able to mess with the internal drive is kind of annoying, but being able to swap out drives whenever? Hell yeah.
