Exactly! I used to talk my daddy into playing me and I would make him run backwards when he was on Offense so I could get a safety and the 2 points. Same thing when he was on Kickoff return, he would run out of the back of the endzone. I also used to put my fastest player at QB and just run circles around the D.Hell, some people I've encountered online still do that.

I've recently read articles from two different sources concerning the players in this image NOT wearing their respective team uniforms. Anyone think this is final? Or maybe, HOPEFULLY, this was taken at a very, VERY early stage in the game. Honestly, I'm quite tempted to stop reading anything NCAA 14 related from other sources simply because everything I read on another site always has me thinking about crazy shit. There are some very, and I mean VERY hard critics out there talking about a game they have not even played yet.
Yes, most likely it was from a very early build and will show their correct uniforms in the actual game.
I wouldn't expect them to show correct uniforms... That wasn't in in March and we didn't talk much presentation then, but since those are static images instead of 3d player menu models, that would require logic specific to determine at the very least default uniform color and code it to replace that white.
It could be done I'm sure, but then people would bitch that it doesn't have the Nike collar for Florida or "I never use the green Oregon jersey, why does it show".
At the end of the day, there are better ways to do it but I imagine it comes down to spending time on that or another aspect of presentation... or just not showing player images there at all.
Besides, with next gen, I imagine it will be all 3D player models all the time... what's one year.
This isn't a dealbreaker for me by any means and thank you for your answer. I would rather they use just the head. Would it be possible to do that? I'm not one to gripe about small things, and I'm certainly not griping about this. Hell, I've seen that screen hundreds of times and and I never even noticed the generic white unis until I read an article ranting about it and how much EA sucks. I love this game, and I will buy it until I'm dead or they stop making it, whichever comes first.
I'm sorry this is off topic but doesn't EA usually release gameplay during the draft?
No... they typically have had a pre-draft party the night before but this year they didn't. In the past, we haven't had any gameplay unveiled until middle of May or thereabouts. The problem with doing it this early is that it's not ready... it's not necessarily near the final product. Certainly by or around E3 (early June), we'll have seen plenty of gameplay, whether from EA or unofficial channels that play it at E3.
I don't think they could just show only the head but they could zoom in further or crop off more of the image. I think if it showed from the top of the collar up, it would look better... it would still show some white but it would be minimal and the head would be bigger anyway. That would likely be an easy enough fix and something I'll pass along as a suggestion.
A poll has been added to vote for your top three presentation related improvements. After voting, please let us know which items you chose and why.
Neutral site games: To finally be able to play in the Chick-Fil-A kickoff classic is something I've wanted to do since it's inception several years ago.
Halftime show: Finally, a halftime show. I'm very interested to see how it is implemented. A Halftime show can never be a bad thing, right?
Dynamic loading screens: Finally, we don't have to just stare at a screen full of "tips" anymore. It's great having the lowdown on your game right in front of you.
Neutral site games, which is the #1 presentation add for me. Improved commentary, always a big plus. And I guess dynamic loading screens, as there's really nothing else on that list for me.
Halftime show, meh. I already don't pay attention to the studio updates other than to quickly look at the games/scores shown. Other than that, I have no damn clue what Rece even says in those updates because I'm not paying attention. I'm too busy typing up whatever just happened on the last play/drive. It'll pretty much be the same with halftime. I'll glance up for a half second to see any scores they show (if they show any), but otherwise, I probably won't be paying too much attention to what's going on on the screen.
It's "odd" to me that a site (which 1st pointed that issue out) complains about EA "admitting" to using players "likness" (which is NOT what EA is/was doing in Court) and then the next week to complain b/c the "likeness" of the players they are showing aren't 100% accurate.
can you play neutral site games online ?
can you move the camera from left to right before the snap this time like you can in madden ?
what are team base layers ?
