Nothing new but a "recap" of all of the most recent stuff:

Not wirelessly JB. It still has to be plugged in via USB. The PS3 does not continue to charge your controllers once you turn it off. The 360 does.

With all the computing power of these next gen systems I really hope we see some PC style simulation/strategy games makes an appearance on the consoles. Count me in the minority but I have zero interest in "shoot em up" style games... and that seems to be the basis of most console games today (aka put in as much graphic violence and bloodshed as possible).

The problem for strategy games has never been computing power. It's the interface. It's hard to adapt the traditional interface to a gamepad.

This. I tried Civilization Revolution on 360, never could really get into it. It's just not the same on the console as it is on PC. Total War, Civilization, World in Conflict, SimCity, Crusader Kings II, etc, I don't see how they would translate real well to a console and gamepad. You really do need the mouse and keyboard to truly play the game as it is/was intended.

I REALLY enjoyed Civ on the PS3 but IMHO they made the game too arcade like thinking that there wasn't a market for it on a console. I think it could easily be done on a console but would probably be best as a psn/ms store download only type game.

A turnbased strategy game could work just fine on a console (like Civ Revolution was). Trying to do RTSs though would be a hassle. Not being able to do shortcuts with simple quick key presses like on a keyboard make it nearly impossible to make a good RTS.

I could see Civ 5 getting a console port. It's entirely possible for them to do that without any real issues besides it being a bit slower than mouse and keyboard, but, being a turnbased strategy game, the slower controls isn't a big deal at all.

I played C&C on PS? back in the day and it was alright. Something like Total War would be impossible though. Even the turn-based sections would be very difficult to navigate.

I loved Civ Revolution except for the fact they made it to only last six hours. I played Civ (or was it Civ 2?) on play station and it was a blast. Heck, I used to love playing SIMCITY back on Super Nintendo. I think the market is there for those types of games but I don't think the companies have an interest in reaching out to that side of the console gamer market.

I bought Port Royale for PS3 and I have been very happy with it thus far. Basically they made the game identical to the PC version and didn't dumb anything down. I personally can overlook some of the challenges with console controllers but I realise other may not be able to do so.

For me it's not the difficulty, jaymo, just the tediousness. Like how scrolling the Web browser on PS3 is overly complicated. There are just some things the controller can't do well.

Rumor I heard on IGN's podcast beyond - Sony wants to steal MS's thunder with another announcement/presser in May roughly at the same time MS comes out with the 720 with showing the actual console and price and perhaps a dig at the always online.

They would if they're smart. I still don't see the point of announcing a console without showing the thing or even giving a price. It makes perfect sense to actually do that, although I think it would be kind of difficult to fill an entire event with just a showing of the console and the price.

As for that last bit, Sony has absolutely no room to make a dig at anything Xbox related when it comes to online infrastructure. That would be the equivalent to Shaq taking a dig at Steve Nash's free throw shooting. The bit about the rumors that it would require online access to play games, that would probably be a little hard considering the next Xbox probably wont be revealed by then. Of course, Greg Miller is probably one of the top 3 biggest morons I've ever seen in my life, so it makes perfect sense for him to say something that dumb.

You do realize that this strategy is practically the exact same strategy the "juvenile and pathetic" MS did to Sony with the 360 v. PS3. Just sayin'

Yeah, but it's still stupid. I thought that shit ended back in middle school. I guess the fucktards just grow up on the outside, but never on the inside.

    Which ones?

I remember the two going back and forth with each other over the years. I died when watching this:
