Still rumor but if true PS4 is looking much better for me.
Speaking to Kotaku, an unspecified source stated, "If the connection is interrupted then after a period of time -- currently three minutes, if I remember correctly -- the game/app is suspended and the network troubleshooter started."
Damn you xbox , damn you I say. This whole Wifi to play will be stupid. So going in the wrong direction .

Microsoft Studios' creative director has some choice words about always-online
More at the link. Not looking good Microsoft.
2 possibilities here:
#1 - MS sent out this Orth guy as a trial balloon to see how fierce the blowback would be for a DRM console before making a "final" decision about whether to include it in the 720 or not
#2 - This Orth guy is a MORON and if I were MS he wouldn't be at the office after today
lmfao this shizzle has blown up twitter and the youtubes:
A. That guy who made those comments is a fucking idiot. I don't care who you are, you don't belittle your customers and tell them to basically "fuck off" if they don't like your system.
B. There is NO way that Microsoft goes online only and no used games alone. If they do, you can bet your ass Sony will be following in their footsteps. They might not follow in the online required aspect, but they'll be the first ones to follow Microsoft with the no used games. Let's not forget who has been the biggest supporter and user of the online pass, this generation's version of trying to eliminate used games. Let's also not forget that they have a patent that eliminates used games, so I truly believe that if one of them does it, the other will follow.
I personally don't care about either issue. I'm getting both regardless. If you believed the idiots on N4G, you'd think the next Xbox is already doomed, but of course, they're all raging Sony loyalists. I truly don't get this whole "brand allegiance." It's extremely weird.
A - agree 100% the absolute WORST way to "sell" this idea
B - Disagree 100% this could be the "issue" that DEFINES the next-gen console "war". Clearly that is the "trend" but Sony could easily say let MS be the 1st one to try it and win this generation's console war and then next time (in 7-10 years when the PS5 comes out) do the DRM in a much more tactful way than MS has done.
Because people are fucktards who feel every single thing between two products has to be a war and you must choose one or the other. I'll play the system that does what I want/need it to do and the system where the majority of my friends are so I can play multiplayer in games with them. Be it Xbox or PS4, I don't give a fuck. I've never understood these fucktards who treat Microsoft-Sony like Allies-Nazis. It's a goddamn console. Choose the one that works best for you (or get BOTH!) and be happy and then shut the fuck up about all the stupid "this one is the best", "no that one is the best" bullshit.
Agree with all you of. People need to find the best system for their needs not the rest of the world. I ended up with both 360 and ps3 since I enjoy all games on each side. The next generation system purchase for me will be different. I will go xbox first and stay with it for a while. All my friends are on xbox so that settles that for me. I may end up with a ps4 down the road after a big price drop or sale. But I still hate this damn thought of having to be connected 24/7 to play games.
Yep, I don't know why that is so hard for people. I owned by a PS2 and an original Xbox last-gen, and played both a lot, splitting time between each. This generation, I got a 360 because that was where all my friends are and because it has the exclusives that I like (Halo for instance). The only true exclusive on the PS3 that I would be interested in would be MLB: The Show. So 360 was my console of choice and while considering getting a PS4 at one point, I never got around to doing so. Next-gen, I'll probably go Xbox first again just because of it being where all my friends are and Halo being an exclusive to it. And then a year or two after that, consider getting a PS4. Now if only the rest of the idiots in the world would give the fanboy shit a rest and just go with the console they prefer and be done with the bitching or fighting over consoles.
If one of them decides to do away with used games, the other one wont have a choice. People get their panties in a bunch because they only think about themselves, hence all these "if Microsoft doesn't support used games then they will fail" articles. The publisher for games does not see a single penny from used games sales. Not one. They make all their money off a certain game on new copies sold. They couldn't give 2 shits if people didn't buy a certain console because it didn't support used games because they were never technically their customer in the first place.
What I believe would happen if say Microsoft didn't allow used games and Sony did is that you would see pressure from publishers for Sony to do the same, so that every copy sold is some more money in their pockets. Who's to say that if they refused, publishers would drop support completely? Sony or Microsoft aren't a damn thing without publishers putting all the games on their respective systems.
Let me also remind you that Sony has not come right out and said "we will support used games." I realize there was a quote during an interview after the reveal, but I don't put much weight into a high up member of Sony having to ask his adviser what their stance was.
It's not like Sony's against it. Virtually every single one of their first party games has that stupid online pass, something EA doesn't even always do. That's saying something.
But, I digress. I don't think either one of them will actually ban used games...yet. I'd almost guarantee this is the last generation of physical media, so I don't see why everyone is bitching about used games when it's only a matter of time before everything is digital and used games are gone anyway.
