Small roundtable this morning with Yoshida. Courtesy GameSpot:

    - Will PS4 allow used games, a reporter asks? Yoshida says that when you purchase a disc-based games on PS4, that "should work" on any hardware.

    - Why was the hardware not on show last night? Yoshida says he is sorry for not showing the hardware last night and notes that the final hardware is not finalized.

    - Asked about pricing, Yoshida says Sony is eyeing an "affordable price" for the system.

    - Asked about PS3 investment continuing in the wake of PS4 announcement. He says Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls are two big titles, but no further titles for PS3 have been announced.

    - Yoshida shoots down speculation that Beyond: Two Souls is coming to PS4. "It's not," he says.

    - Talking about simultaneous development for PS3 and PS4, Yoshida says Sony has not done this outside of sports titles.

    - Will Gaikai support be available at launch? Yoshida says every PS4 title will be available to play through Remote Play on PS Vita. At least that's the ambition. "I would be heart-broken" if all PS4 games don't play on PS Vita at launch.

    - Regarding activation codes for used games, Yoshida said "we are not talking about that."

    - Will PSN remain free? Yoshida says it's not already free, pointing to PS Plus. He says Sony wants to provide more services, functionality, and content through PSN, but won't say if this will cost an extra fee. "We are not ready to talk about that yet."

    - Is this the last of the PS4 we see before E3? Yoshida says "I hope not," looking at PR person.

    - Will PS Vita get a price cut in the West? Yoshida says the price cut is not coming to other regions.

    - Is region-locking going to be a feature of PS4? Yoshida says he knows the answer, but will not talk about it just yet.

    - PS4 does not support DualShock 3, he says. But your Move controllers will still work.

    - What about that new PlayStation Eye camera we saw last night? Yoshida says "we are not yet ready to talk about what's in the box."

    - The name of the new Eye device is PlayStation 4 Eye. It has two cameras, which can be used in different ways. One of which is triangulation. Face-tracking will be much more robust, he says. The other use of the PS4 Eye's two-camera approach will help with augmented reality games, like Wonderbook.

    - Is Last of Us going to see a release on PS4? Yoshida says Sony is interested in releasing the game on two platforms, but no decisions have been made. In general, this is not Sony's focus, Yoshida explains

    - Does PlayStation 4 support 4K? The PS4 supports 4K output, Yoshida says, but games do not.

    - Asked about the strategy of having Gran Turismo and Drive Club in a time when racing games may be fading, Yoshida says both games can exist. Yoshida name-checks Gran Turismo 6. Asked about the similarities between Gran Turismo and Drive Club, Yoshida says Sony is not ready to talk specifics about the two games.

    - What's going on with 3D? Will it be emphasized on the PS4? Yoshida says it is not a focus for the PS4, though it still will support the technology.

    - Now talking about the PS4 hard drive, Yoshida said it is Sony's "dream" that gamers will fill up their hard drives, though he won't comment on whether or not interchangeable storage will be available.

    - Talking now about technological advancements for the PS4, Yoshida explains graphical fidelity is important, but other experiences--like social--are as well. Yoshida says the PS4 will embrace free-to-play, social, and other new types of games.

My take on game prices. First off, I can't believe people were making stories out of Amazon's placeholders , second, the development costs and ease of developing is going to be easier. Graphically, it's not a gigantic leap, it just can process a hell of a lot more; hence, I think games are going to stay at $60, maybe even more releases levitating back to $50.

Let's remember brand new NES games back in the day were $50 and $60. I honestly think that price point is going to stick throughout time.

This view of the controller makes me think I won't have to purchase trigger add-ons, or at least it will be better than it was on the DS3. If the same company makes trigger add-ons for the DS4, I'll still buy them because of how happy I was with them.

The DualShock 4's new light bar contains three color LEDs and corresponds with the PlayStation Move motion capture interface. The LED array can change colors to match the color of a character in a video game, or alert a player to an important situation -- for example, a flashing pattern when you near death.
This will be cool for RPG's where it'll change color or flash when an enemy engages you.

Or say the playclock is running down in a football game.

    When you're low on ammo.

The possibilities with this are endless, I love it.

Or it turns red if a grenade is thrown and lands near you....you're right, the potential is endless. Great add.

Yeah lots of possibilities but the ? is will developers (EA) take advantage of them or screw the pooch. I already mentioned EA using PS4's tablet/smart phone PSN app to allow for a live box score for all sports games while you are playing.

I am never looking at my controller when I play so I do not see how this will help/hurt me. Cool idea, but not sure it will be useful for me.

Peripheral vision will allow you to see that LED light I'm assuming.

I guess we all have to wait to for June to come around for E3 but we all should of known not much was gonna be revealed on Wed. Such a waist of an event though.

I'm not sure if I am gonna like the touch pad or not its hard to say for know. It looks cool but I just don't know.

They sure aren't talking about alot!! This is my only gripe with all this.

Just as a side bar ...if this was a thread I am sure the phrase "pictures or GTFO" would have come up by now. LOL

What I am wondering is some of these major features available at launch or will they become available two years later like Sony and Microsoft are both known to do.

Sony hoping to be flexible with pricing:

When asked if the company was prepared to compete with other consoles and hit a more favorable price, Yoshida said that Sony's decisions to use custom AMD hardware instead of its own proprietary Cell architecture has allowed it to save on R&D and production costs.

"The architecture choice we have made this time around has allowed us not to invest to create dedicated factories and conducting factories and things like that — so that helps in order for us to provide an affordable price to consumers."

While Sony has yet to offer a sense of what the system will cost, it seems as though the company understands that with the advent of gaming-capable sub-$200 smartphones and tablets, consumers are more cost-conscious than ever.

When asked if the aforementioned "cloud services" could work with your existing PSN library, recognizing your previous purchases and making those experiences available on the otherwise-incompatible PS4, Yoshida said, "We could do so if we choose to. We know who purchased what as a record. But we are working on service plans and we haven't decided."
To me that means, if you have PS+, you're going to be able to stream past purchases.

That would be lame as hell. "Oh hey, you spent $1000 or so on these games, but uh, pay us $50 a year(or however much they're going to charge for it this time around) and we'll let you stream those games."
