I guess it all has to do with what you have as far as players. In the spring games A&M didn't have Manziel running wild all over the field and Showers was actually getting more snaps and running the 1st team offense. When he (Showers) was running the offense it was more a pass first team. I wasn't 100% sure if KK was the nuts and bolts of Sumlin's offense. We looked great in the bowl game vs ou without him. When I was able to see Houston games in the past I wasn't 100% sure if KK was there the entire time as I didn't pay close enough attention but when Sumlin was there he threw the ball all over the place. Of course Kolb and Keenum weren't scrambling QBs like JF.

I'm hoping to see more of a true Mike Leach-air raid style with KK return to ttu.

Kingsbury was a coach under Dana Holgorsen, who was the Offensive Coordinator at Houston before he moved on to Oklahoma State (then WVU). Kingsbury moved into a QB Coach / OC role after Holgorsen left. And yes, I think it relies almost 100% on what personnel you have. In that, Kliff may be better off than 95% of other coaches out there ... he seems to be willing to change the offense to fit personnel. A lot of coaches are not.

Couldn't agree more, this is one BIG reason why I think A&M did so well this year. These were Mike Sherman's recruits, he did an amazing job at getting BIG O-lineman, like he was trying to start an NFL team (or atleast how I would think you do it, i.e. Dallas Cowboys back in the day, get the meat up front and anyone can run behind it).

Hopefully winning will only help "feed the fire" if we didn't do well this year it was going to be interesting to see how the recruiting panned out. Mike Sherman left us with some stout players. He maybe didn't win as much but he seemed to recruit well. It seems like the players he left were more pro-style players as in they would fit into any system.

Of course all the "experts" said we wouldn't do well with Sumlin's approach until later in his time here at A&M since we didn't have the overall speed he was used to at Houston. So on that note it can hopefully only get better from here. Only time will tell. Still to this day, I hope that get a great back-up QB. JF is something special but he still scares me to death the way he runs all over the field, holding the ball out like he does, one of these days he's going to get POPPED HARD. It's like an out-of-control roller coaster when you're at the games, everyone is screaming when he's running 1/2 b/c it's exciting, 1/2 b/c we want him to slide or tuck the ball!

Just ask my wife, I enjoy all the other bowl games, our game it's not healthy, when A&M is on TV I'm like a nervous wreck. Working the games is good b/c I can scream at the top of my lungs and not scare my kids who are at home with my wife.

"I don't know how many times I have to say it," Saban said during an interview with ESPN's Mike & Mike. "You guys don't believe it. Every time I do an interview, I have to say the same thing and you all don't believe so why do I have to keep saying it. I closed the door. Now it's two days later and you're asking me to close the door again. The damn hinges are wore out."

I was watching when Saban said that. I was laughing my ass off. Herman Edwards was in for Golic and jumped in and said "I believe you coach!" lol

Bill Young is "stepping down" as Ok St's defensive coordinator and Glenn Spencer(LB coach and co-defensive coordinator) is taking the reings. Still haven't heard much of anything about who will be the next offensive coordinator.

ESPN just scrolled across the bottom that Miami hired Mario Cristoball as associate Head Coach. There have also been rumors that he will be WR/TE coach as well.

with a new defensive coordinator hired today, USC will be back on top at the end of next season. stanfurd's and oregon's runs are over. plus, we'll be landing some mammoth defensive tackles on NSD. we'll sign like 3 of the top 10 defensive tackles.

Yeah, but you still can't count out Stanford. Even when USC was playing for national titles and Stanford was sucking their way to 3 or 4 wins, they still would manage to beat you guys every other year or so.

not really. we've lost 5 of the last 6, but before that, we had won 5 in a row. stanfurd will still be a good school, but they're starting to lose their toughness that harbaugh instilled in em.

They said the same thing when Bellotti moved on to AD and Chip Kelly got promoted from OC to HC. Oregon will be back in full force, and their offense will be similar but change just enough to keep everyone off balance.
