You should be able to. I do. I have all my Steam stuff, games and main Steam program on my 2 TB external hard drive and run everything via USB 2.0.
That's exactly what I want to do. I would just install a new internal drive, but I know I'll be getting a new laptop within the next 2 years and rather than downloading everything all over again, I'd rather just plug the external in and have it ready to go. I just wanted to make sure that A. it was possible and B. there was no noticeable performance decreases when running a game off of an external drive compared to internal.
Yeah, I haven't noticed any slowdowns in games. It's always run fine for me, games start up normally and run great. It's perfect for me because it saves room on my internal hard drive that has limited free space.

I have reached the point where the Steam Winter Sale has consumed me. I already have this gameand a lot of my friends list has it too...so I guess the answer is yes.

When I googled it that when I saw it was F2P, made me feel somewhat better.
Yeah so we haven't officially lost it yet, but I'm sure going to buy something you might already have from Steam isn't looked down upon, it's understood
