College Football 26 - Dynasty & Team Builder Deep Dive
College Football 26 has released a deep dive video and a lengthy blog detailing the vast improvements and changes coming to Dynasty Mode and Team Builder.
Among the highlights: More/improved Portal movement (led by all players possessing a DealBreaker), improved Carousel logic, new Wear & Tear settings, and improved recruit generation.

Dynasty:
Online Dynasty Cross-Play (up to 32 users)
Ability to create new or play as existing coach
Expanded created coach options including apparel, demeanor, and stance
Maximum coach levels increased to 100 (from 50)
New coach level progression curve: Early momentum, longer tail of growth
Expanded to 59 total archetypes, each with unique combination of Physical Abilities
All archetype perks rebalanced/updated
Minimum coach level required to unlock a base archetype
Transfer Portal: increased entrants, settings to change entrants/probability. Transfer prospects rated more by POS & class year
Dynamic DealBreakers: Every player now has a DealBreaker. The minimum grade no longer locked to B-, can change over player's career. Conference Prestige added as a DB. Playing Time now a factor for all players (using snaps played), especially for 5-star recruits, high-rated backups, and QBs.
My School refresh: Playing Time revamped (see above), Pro Potential based on draft results for last four seasons, Playing Style re-evaluated for every archetype, rebalanced grade curve among all 14 categories
Location Based Recruiting: Increased hour visit cost based on distance from recruit to campus
Scouting: Ratings appear in consistent order for every position, Mind Reader ability will activate through scouting versus visit
Recruiting Battles: When one of two close schools hits commitment threshold, recruit will set higher threshold two schools can compete towards.
Recruit Generation: 4,100 recruits per season, reduced elite prospects, Brand Exposure more important to glamour positions, rebalanced Deal Breakers, reduced weight, new 'lean' body type
Sway: Probability of success will show before selection, visual indicators if successful
Recruiting Quality of Life improvements: Team Needs shows on top of Prospect List; Recruiting Board will show indicators for Interest movement, red dot will indicate reaching Top 5, stage indication on Recruiting Board will be highlighted. Recruits can be tabbed as a Favorite, which is also a filter. Additional prospect search filters.
Positional Updates: Edge Rushers (formerly DEs), SAM or WILL (formerly OLBs), MIKE (replacing MLB).
Depth Chart Updates: Long Snapper, Gadget, Nose Tackle
Player Progression: Increased skill group levels from 10 to 20. Larger impact in offseason progression based on Dev Trait. Players can gain weight during offseason progression. Athletic Facilities grade increases amount of progression.
Physical and Mental Abilities Revamp: New Abilities. Some Physical Abilities require two attribute requirements to unlock.
Development Trait can increase following a standout season. Notification for player upgrade.
Training Results: Attribute, weight gain, Ability upgrades, dev trait upgrade indicated
Manual Progression: Option for users to manually progress development (spend Skill Points)
Position Changes: Evaluating position change will show which Abilities will be retained
Wear & Tear: Season and Career Health pools. User selected Auto Subs Strategy, Custom Settings for W&T application on impact and recovery.
Formation Subs: Ability to set 50 formation subs per team. Will carry season to season until player leaves. Will stay with formations shared between any playbook changes.
Schedules: All known future season games through 2040 included
Addition of 14 licensed awards including the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award. Revamped awards logic. Awards and accolades viewable in Player Card.
College Football History: Archive of National Champions, Conference Champions, Award Winners; with conference and team filters
Improved conference tiebreaker logic
Deeper stat tracking for player season and career stats, team stats
Updated 2025 College Football Playoff format (straight seeding)
Trophy Room: Each Dynasty has its own Trophy Room including team and individual-based awards
Numerous Quality of Life Improvements: Quick access to Player Info, Player Stats & Attributes on player module, Dev Trait on player module, quick access to team schedules, Members Tab, Super Sim tempo adjustments, broken records feedback, coach stats, Force Win update, combined opponent record on team schedule, Advance Week confirmation, 'Sim to' points, Redshirt updates, Scouting Ability info, increased spreadsheet row count, ...
