It's a little more involved than you described (shocker) but again, a 2011 game should run at 60fps on a next gen console. Many remasters are half ass money-grabs that you can't see any difference (Dishonored for example) but there are exceptions to the rule (Borderlands Collection and The Last of Us).

Really good documentary by Danny O'Dwyer.

The Story of Rocket League (Part 1) - How To Build a Rocket

Edit: I have now killed two dragons. I did meet that girl I could have adopted but I had no home. I'm venturing north right now. I've seen a giant who promptly killed me. I just got killed by an ice troll.

I will say I think the Skyrim world is more realistic than DAI as actual towns and people are living in it. It feels more organic with the NPCs and exploration.

Yeah, the wife was at work and the kids were off doing their thing... I played for about 5 hours straight. I killed my first dragon by myself. Currently I am getting destroyed in the Companions quest. Farkas sucks!

God, it's so scarily accurate. Bravo to whoever put in the work on that gif.

Just started Skyrim and I have already rin into a really big glitch. They do not offer a safe zone for the HUD in the options and it is stretching outside the screen, making certain things unreadable. Hopefully a patch is in the work. Far from wowed by the graphical upgrade but it runs pretty smooth for 30fps and there are already some interesting mods I plan to try as soon as I beat the game vanilla the first time.

Skyrim framerate is fine with me. Better than Tomb Raider remaster for sure. But graphics do look like a PS3 port.

I like the day /night cycles in the game. I haven't done anything with magic really as my two handed warrior.

Play with favorites. This enables the use of the d-pad and stops time as you switch between weapons, magic or use items that are favorited (potions, etc). Doing so will allow you to quickly use your magic, even if it is something as simple as a regeneration spell and then quickly back to a two-hand sword. Also a quick way to switch between using the sword to a bow or a shield/sword shield/magic combo. Be sure and level up magic every so often, you will find it useful down the road.

I've seen the favourites thing but haven't used it yet. Lots of things I'm still fairly clueless about. The ice trolls have killed me pretty easy when I've encountered them. May have to try fire magic.

I've killed quite a few Mage bandits and have their expensive robes. Need to find a place to sell them for money. I haven't really used the forge or created anything yet either.

The soundtrack in Skyrim is really good, the world huge but it's stunning how few voice actors there are. One guy is the voice for half the people and talks the same way. It's odd and noticeable.

There are redundancies in the voice acting but they did use over 70 voice actors, so it is not like they were skimping in this area.

Soundtrack is great but there are some really awesome covers out there.

    My favorite

Thank goodness. I thought it was my settings. Yes, the screen is stretched to far. I cannot see how many lock picks I have left, etc.

I have a 44 dwarven axe with 42 iron armour. I also travel with a companion (Erandmour... or something like that... he's a mage). Companions are huge but honestly, the biggest thing is having the dragon command or run as it has saved me from a few bad situations.

My one complaint for the game... the visuals outside are beautiful so why is most of the game underground where the lighting is terrible?

I fixed the problem. Go into your TV settings and select, "Fit to Screen." Hopefully you have that option or something similar.

Well, I'm set for gaming through the end of the year.

Target had a buy two, get one free through the website through the end of today. So I bought Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 and Metal Gear Solid 5 Definitive Edition all for PS4.

Add in the soon to be preordered Watch Dogs 2 and maybe Call of Duty if I ever hop off the fence (apparently it's getting praise from those at OS and elsewhere online now that it's actually been played, with the campaign getting a lot of praise heaped on it, plus with being able to play COD4), and maybe Final Fantasy 15 at the end of the month, I will pretty much be set until Spring for games.

I will have to try that since my screen is stretched too. Sloppy on their part if we are all seeing the same thing.

For anyone playing on the XB1, forget about your gamerscore/achievements and try playing with Vivid weathers mod. At the very least see what you are missing as Vivid is great in Fallout but spectacular in Skyrim. Save a game at night. Go to mods and install Vivid weathers. Continue game, it will make a new mod save and you will still have the unmodded save. Look at the sky, enjoy! Also the storms and cloudy skies are a ton better.

Plenty of really good mods out there for Xbox One, if you want some really good ones that won't break your game let me know.

I've only played 11-12 hours so far but combat is not a strength or focus of this game. The massive world along with exploration and finding caves or hideouts seems to be the true focus. The story and quests feel like just a reason to move through this massive world. It's interesting but I'm not hooked yet. It's simply OK imo.

Just curious as to the main reason people enjoy Skyrim here? B, Jaymo? I know Mors grew tired of it.

I love the Bethesda games, faults and all. Others do not. Are you messing around with the smithing, enchanting, alchemy, etc? If not then you are missing a really big part of the game. If you are just doing missions and running with a greatsword, I can see that getting boring pretty quick.
