Anyone pick up Anno 2205 for PC? Looks like a solid title.

So, I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) on the Wii U. It really is as good as people say. I'm glad I got the console version as opposed to the 3DS version as the game is way to big to really experience on a handheld.

How many story based games are out there like Heavy Rain? I'm not crazy about them but it's something my daughter likes. She likes the cut scenes in Uncharted a lot. But I don't want a mature game either that is beyond what I want her seeing. Anything like Uncharted that has heavy cut scenes but is not beyond pg 13?

I had no expectations for that game (I got it on sale because it was dirt cheap) and I was floored by how engrossed I was in its characters.

That strategy of surprise it's almost here definitely paid off.

Facepalm. This is why clueless dumbasses should be forbidden from writing about the world of video games.

God I hope so. I'm officially 100% digital and couldn't be happier. This generation could have been even better being all digital focused, but the dumbshits had to go and ruin that with their endless bitching and moaning.

I'm 100% digital too. I have no use for buying, selling or trading used games and I never have. The best part about digital for me is not having to un-ass the couch to change games. Hell, as far back as PS2 I wanted a disc changer for just that purpose but since that was not an option I had a daughter instead and she did a great job as a disc changer.

Sometimes I see sale prices for games and I think "wow, that's a great price" but then I remember that it's a disc and either I don't buy it or I pay more for the download.

Yeah, the pricing and lack of sales can be an issue, the convenience of digital is just much greater for me.

I never trade in games, and any I have in the past have been obsolete sports games. I get itches all the time to play old games. I still play old games that I bought 5 or 6 years ago. It's like old PC games. Hell, I was still playing stuff like Rome: Total War on my laptop before it died, and that released back in 2004. People still play their old SNES and other similar systems.

So it's like that for me. I just find a place to store my old 360 games (and some original Xbox games I still keep around) and when I get that itch to go back and play them, I can just pop them in instead of having to find another copy online somewhere.

Plus the ultra-convenience of being able to keep every single game I own on an external hard drive and take all my games with me on trips. I'm going to South Dakota in April to visit a friend who's wedding I'm best manning next fall. Check out their new house they moved into last year, see what Sioux Falls is like, etc. If he gets an Xbox One before then, I can take my nice little compact hard drive and travel with every Xbox One and BC Xbox 360 game I own and we can play them all on his system by literally doing nothing but plugging it into his console and signing in my profile.

So all digital definitely has its big advantages, especially if you're like me or Steeler who never trade in games. It's perfect for us and definitely less clutter around the house with a bunch of game cases no longer laying around.

I stopped being a Day 1 guy a long time ago (which I'll break for Mass Effect next year) so waiting for store price drops always works well for my pocket.

    I can understand that.

I only buy a couple of games on Day 1 anymore. This year it has only been FIFA and MLB, I believe. Other than those the only ones I would consider, for the most part, are NHL (passed this year) and anything my daughter wants.

That said, I still don't want discs. The last disc I bought was GTA V on PS3 and that was like 2 years ago. The only PS4 disc I own is MLB 14 and that was because I got it free.

I am moving that way as well. Part of it is just laziness but I don't want to get up and switch the discs. LOL. Part of it is the convenience. Part of it is getting early access to certain games, etc. I will always love that act of opening up a new game and reading the instructions but times have changed...

Its interesting that this is a further along version of the situation we are in right now with EA Sports titles. In a few years I could easily see EA dumping Franchise mode and moving to 100% MUT/online play with an exhibition/play now as the only alternative.

I disagree. Look at Fallout 4. People love to invest time in things. The RPG aspect that sucks people in there is similar to guys loving to track stats and build teams. NCAA Football was loved for dynasty mode. If fans are getting bored with franchise mode it's more of an issue with the company not doing it right. There will ALWAYS be a major need for franchise modes with drafts and free agency in sports titles imo.
