Booting up for first time now.
Very quick impressions after 3 rounds.
Game is solid and I can definitely see myself enjoying it for sure. Feels like golf. Love the ball physics in relation to the green and really everywhere on the course. Ball seems to roll and respond as it should and not with super glue on it
These courses are pretty nice. Good lord there are hundreds
Couple things I wish were different and maybe they are I just haven't found out yet.
#1. Ease of Shot modification: Wish you had to hold a cursor or marker on the ball with the other analog stick making it tougher. Instead of just move High or Low Loft to where you want and just swing away.
Same for hitting a Draw or Fade. That should be way more difficult than just setting and firing away. I've played EA PGA for years and years and still can't hit either to this day without a shank (not counting training wheels swing)
Probably too easy to do but I mostly use it for changing the loft. I prefer to stick with the easy route and swing straight, unless a tree tells me otherwise. I used to play games with a natural draw or fade, like the majority of the pros but it became a PITA. There is enough difficulty on the harder courses to get a challenge. Drive for show, putt for dough, etc.
Still would be nice to have that added difficulty.
I haven't missed a fairway yet. Like to turn the scout function off as well if possible.
I have missed a ton of putts. Not due to reads or green speed but the swing oddly not being hard enough most times. Even though it appears I'm swinging plenty hard enough. Then of course when in somewhat close (8-10) the ball rolls quick and fast typically resulting in a pop up out of the cup.
These ball physics though...can't say enough. Just love the way it reacts to the different lies and surface of green

Go the options and you can change the difficulty for driving. It is on Normal, there are two higher difficulties which will allow you to spray shots all over the place.
The sounds coming off the clubs are also terrific.

Ahh ok, hadn't really checked the settings other than judt a quick look through. To read some of the info on the screen you have to be pretty close to the TV...I wear glasses but man some of the font is small lol
Yes the sounds are great as well. Even the contact when a divot is made.
Looking forward to playing some more tonight.
Played 9 holes of Augusta National...Man someone did a nice job on that
How long is this going to be open for? This week is pretty nuts, hoping next week is quieter.
And am I still on your friends list BD?
The dude abides.
You guys should have plenty of time.
Will send you a friends request JB and will add you skip here in just a sec.
The Augusta is the (Sunday version) which I think is the highest played one.
Stand corrected on swing difficulty
Set mine to Hard before playing the teeing off our Tour.
Definitely not hitting all drives straight...or approach shots for that matter. Much different than Normal swing
Likely will keep it. I like a tough challenge. Know I won't get close to your guys scores but I like it this way. Makes those narrow fairways even more dangerous. 6+ at the moment at this 2nd course.
In 2 rounds I've only hit probably 3-4 truly straight shots. Wind isn't playing a factor as much as the swing difficulty is just tougher. The shots have a slight fade to them mostly
Tell you what this game is very solid. Know I sound like a broken record but the ball physics and gameplay man
Keep it on tough skip, I do....the courses really drive difficulty on this game.
Well if everyone is going to...
I am assuming you are playing on "Hard" or are you on "Hardest?"
Also who is going to pick out the courses for Tour #2? Assuming that we are going to have one.
My biggest complaint with the games is two really small things. The lack of an option to turn off the flyby before each hole and when the screen fades to black the ghosting/flicker/whatever that happens each time. The flyby just adds another time I have to see it. Tiny little thing but annoys the crap out of me.
I just hit X quickly on the fly by. Beats waiting for holes to load though.
I'm on Hard BD. Driver distance goes to 265. Not sure if thats dirtance on Normal. I have been getting 300 yard drives when straight.
