I'm honestly a bit shocked at the level of A-Rod revelry this season.
I listen to MLB on XM quite a bit, as well as Baseball Tonight and other baseball shows. Very few commentators or hosts are willing to discuss the fact that A-Rod has been caught cheating with PEDs twice, and there is a mountain of evidence to suggest he's been juicing his entire career.
Instead, they say things like "We know his history with PEDs, but what he's doing this year is amazing".

I think it's quite obvious that A-Rod is still on the Diesel. The man has made over $600M in his career and just had an entire year off to do nothing.
Nobody can tell me that he didn't use his wealth and free time to search out the best chemist he can find.
I think every HR and hit he's accumulated was done through a needle and I wish some of these talking heads would finally address it.
Even if they don't believe he's dirty right now, I feel it's erroneous to not mention that there's at least a chance that he's still juicing now.

IMO, the only way A-Rod could have proven he's clean if he voluntarily signed-up to be part of VADA testing. They take blood at any time, night or day, and store that blood for eternity.
If new screens become available, they'll test old blood against them. So an athlete that may appear clean today, could be found guilty 20 years from now when screening tests improve.
Michael Phelps and boxer Nonito Donaire are two athletes I know of who are part of the program.
Surely A-Rod has enough money to afford that on his own. And it would got a LONG way to prove he's clean.

But if I had to bet my own money, I'd put all my cash down that he's been chemically enhanced since high school.

As they normally do at the ballpark, they announce birthdays for people in attendance in the park.

At Petco Park over the weekend, they wished happy birthday to Dick Fitzer

Grantland.com article on Houston's return to competitive baseball. Well worth a read, especially for Steeler

Very good read, Jeff. Thank you for sharing that. I think the next decade or so is going to be a good time to be an Astros fan. I'm also glad, from an analytics angle, that you've taken some interest in what is brewing down here in Houston.

As long as they either keep their pitching or continue to develop new stars like McCullers, they're going to be a force. Free agents will want to come there now.

    The thing is this:

    C Castro
    1B Singleton
    2B Altuve
    3B ?
    SS Correa
LF ? Maybe Tucker or Santana
    CF Marisnick
    RF Springer

They have young talent (some of it potentially very high-level talent) all over the diamond.

I'm excited about the draft on Monday and I'm glad I cursed Brady Aiken too.

I'm not completely sold on Singleton at all.

I believe Jeff Luhnow is and I'll take his word for now.

Even if Singleton bombs, there are very few positions of need, alot of budget room and 2 top 5 picks next week.

Think it's time for a big TGT House party/baseball game/ pub crawl with Steeler as the host.

Let's get this team a little more seasoning first.

The Tigers are really struggling right now. Verlander is still hurt as is Victor Martinez and Sanchez has pitched poorly. Their bats have been cold for far too long. They are. 500 right now.

Damn! Jays sweep the "Stros this weekend. Toronto played some excellent baseball. If they can get the pitching they can be a real nice ball club.

MLB: Astros to recall 2012 No. 1 overall pick SS Carlos Correa on Monday; .332 BA with 10 HR in minors this season.
