I've been reading about him for years. I'd be a little surprised if he ever moves up a level. He's got a good amount of support at Pulaski Academy. Not sure every fan base would be willing to support that.

I do love hearing coaches think outside the box. The compulsory warm up stretching period for my son's 10 year old football team just seems archaic at times. And so many coaches in football run tons of agility drills. At the lower levels I see that as largely a waste of time. Focus on teaching kids how to be good football players with football drills. Trying to turn them into slightly better athletes at the younger age group should be way down that list IMO.

Yep. Farewell college football. It was fun.

I'm not buying Power Five Football when it's released on PS4/Xbox One
Didn't see a High School football thread around. Ohio high schools combine for a 83-82 overtime game that was 75-75 at the end of regulation.

Yep, my phone has been blowing up for the last couple minutes with multiple sports sites reporting the exact same. Truly a sad situation for the players and coaches, especially after a 6-6 season, the best record they've had since 2004. First year coach Bill Clark just took this program in a direction it hasn't been in a decade, possibly to a bowl game, and just as that happens, now they're going to up and kill the entire program. All the players over the years who have still committed to UAB and spent their college careers playing for a team that couldn't find any success in a decade, still showing up and working to try and turn the team into a winner, they end up just shoved out on their asses now. Way to go Alabama Board of Trustees. Great job.

Well, if they don't go to a bowl, I can say I witnessed their last game and win in person. And as a bonus, I apparently watched it upside-down.
Edit: It's sad that Alabama and Auburn would schedule other cupcakes (including Southern Miss) instead of UAB/Troy/USA. They lined the pockets of out-of-state schools instead of taking care of home.

Sadly, I can see a lot of programs going this way. Too many schools need guaranteed home games to make ends meet and the "mid-major" schools are too expensive to bring in. More games are going to match up the extreme ends of the power structure and the middle tier is going to suffer as a result.

A long but interesting look behind the scenes at Arkansas State football.
And reports are coming out that UAB has just been fucked out of a football team. Way to go Alabama Board of Trustees. Jackasses.
