My only complaint is how they are entwining all of the characters to have all crossed paths at some point.

Well, yeah, same here. I liked the idea of Catwoman (or any prominent character, frankly) being witness to the Wayne's death, just because that was an interesting twist. But having Gordon meet a young Ivy was random. And, frankly, as much as I liked Smallville, these characters are far too young. This show would need to run for at least 10 seasons, IMO, before you could introduce Bruce as an actual Batman. And that would just be ridiculous.

Also, significantly re-writing Origin stories just to serve your plot (or, actually, just to serve your big reveal of guess-who-this-is) isn't normally my cup of tea.
