I completely forgot I had even preordered this at Gamestop back when I bought Watch Dogs. However, I won't be able to pick up my copy until at least Friday.

Some are saying the story mode only takes 9-10 hours to complete.

    Eww.

I'm not interested, particularly with NHL coming out tonight and FIFA in two weeks. But, if I were this would be a big negative.

I go back and forth on it. Usually like the idea of very long campaign, but sometimes that means I will not end up finishing the game. In shorter campaigns, for me it depends on the quality of the story and replayability.

Not that long along, Bungie had this to say:

You May Never "Finish" Destiny, Bungie Says

Destiny is a big, big game with loads of activities that will keep you busy for countless hours. That's the message Bungie's community manager David "Deej" Dague tries to get across as part of a recent Best Buy Google Hangout. Asked how many hours of gameplay we can expect from the upcoming title, Deej wouldn't give a specific estimation, but said you're not likely to "finish" the game anytime soon, if you ever do.

"We saw people invest dozens of hours into the beta alone, and that was one destination," Deej said. "These destinations are stitched together with our new tech so that there are so many different locations to visit. Expansive outdoor locations where you can just enjoy your personal vehicle; there are indoor dungeon-type spaces where you can really pick through the bones of our shattered civilization."

Beyond Earth, players will get to visit planetary destinations like the Moon, Mars, and Venus with all types of ancient civilizations and geographies to explore. In addition, Destiny will offer raid-like Strike missions, which challenge players to team up to complete an objective. Deej said players who zip through Destiny's story missions and don't try other modes will be missing out big time.

"If you're a speed-runner, and all you want to do is blaze through and complete one story mission after one story mission, you're really just scratching the surface, because the Strikes add such an extra level of complexity," he said.

On top of that, Destiny has a competitive multiplayer mode--the Crucible--that you're unlikely to ever truly finish. "And as we said before, [there are] endless amount of hours of fun in the Crucible," Deej said. "Until you've kicked every single ass that plays this game, you haven't finished. And once you have, someone else just bought their first copy. So, fresh meat, Christmas noobs."

I understand what he is saying, but there are still a good amount of people who won't get wrapped into MP. For the world being considered so large, I am surprised the storyline isn't 15 or more.

All that story is, is Bungie saying "It's a MMO. We'll constantly add silly little things and have silly little seasonal things to extend the life of an otherwise same old same old FPS" cause that's all it's going to be after the story missions. Just another Halo FPS. All the BS about guns and Borderlands-esque play is just MMO non-sense because what you'll be doing in "the Crucible" couldn't possibly use those items, otherwise it would be so incredibly unbalanced, it'll be pointless to play.

So, you're paying $60 for a 15 hour campaign that you HAVE to play online (say hello to server issues out the ass today, btw, because, without looking it up, I guarantee it's happening) and then nothing because the multiplayer will just be another Halo FPS boring town.

There are some server issues, BTW. Expected unfortunately, but hopefully not long-lasting.

I've been on since about 6:30 and haven't seen any issues on my end.

Good! I saw a handful of people on Twitter say they had issues, but maybe they were user errors.

Has anyone else noticed that the Story missions seem to be harder than the beta, especially the ends of 4 and 5 when you are in the no respawn zone. Definitely noticed some tweaks in gameplay between the two, all for the better though.

It seems about the same to me. Not hard enough once you start getting good gear. It's probably best to do single player missions while you're a level or two below the recommended level so that you get a decent challenge.

I finished off the campaign last night. Took me 6 hours. All the little side missions took me just short of 2 hours, so I'm weighing in at around 8 hours for my total play through. That's with minimal exploring and just doing the missions. It's a fun little campaign but the lack of mission variety started to get on my nerves after awhile. I also don't understand why they would make it so the Elite enemies keep running away from you and you have to keep chasing them down. That probably added another 30 minutes to my play time.

Strike missions and the Crucible are where the time spent is going to lie. If you're into that sort of thing, you'll get a lot of play time. If not, you'll probably be done after your initial play through. I hit level 20 while playing some Strike missions so I guess my purpose now is to just keep playing and find the best gear that I can find. Luckily, there's few things in games that I like more, so I'm quite sure it'll hold my attention until Halo comes out.

All in all, I still don't see how it's some ground breaking experience. It's nothing mind blowing, but it's still a solid game aside from how incredibly broken the Crucible still is.

You can get any game with your XB1 directly from Microsoft until the 13th I think. RCSS in Canada is offering the same deal and tax free starting tomorrow.
