I'm sure this is a dumb ?, but if I want to play my PS4 does it HAVE to be connected to the internet? I mean if I want to play Madden when it comes out for the rest of us, not guys like JB that already has it, will I be able to play it offline?
If my PS4 can't connect to the playstation network that just means it won't register trophies and stuff right? I mean I'll still be able to actually play the games, correct?
Short answer, yes - should be no problems playing offline. However, it sounds like the network is coming back online.
Unless this attack changes things, there will also be maintenance on PSN tomorrow meaning more potential downtime.Sony Network Ent. has reported that PSN service is returning, but you may experience slowness or login issues as the network stabilizes.

The app works again be still no access to the PS Store...![]()
I'm online with no issue at the moment
Didn't try the PS store
Store will be down again tomorrow for the 5 or 6 hour maintenance. Perfect timing.
With the crazy stuff going on with the PSN and me just buying a PS4 last week....this reminds me of it:
Can anyone log on to PSN? I'm getting a maintenance message but I thought that was delayed.
Maybe they got DDoS'd again.![]()
I'll be online to check in an hour or so
