Penn State picks up it's 3rd Commit of the year.

    4* OT Joshua Shelby
    Fairborn, OH

    pbk C-
    rbk C
    pbs C+
    pbf C-
    rbf C-
    rbs B-
    ipb C-

Joshua is really going to push for the two deep right from the start. He is planning on enrolling early for a chance to compete for playing time.

*Joshua Shelby's Cousin is also interested in the Lions. I look for a commit from 5* #1 QB Eddie Shelby in the coming days.

    FSU signs 2 more

Mike Bentley CB (#1) 5* 5'11 186 lbs Gulfport, MS

Mike selected FSU over Auburn, Notre Dame, and UGA. Listed as the top CB in this years recruiting class, he possesses great speed and acceleration (A for both), though he is a bit stiff in the hips (C+). MCV (B-) ZCV (B+) PRS (C+) PRC (B-) JMP (B+)

    Lawrence White MLB (#5) 4* 6'2 245lbs Mckinney, TX

Lawrence chose the Noles over Texas, USC, Auburn, and Tennessee. He has above average tackle, blocking shedding and pursuit ratings (B, B-, B-) as well as very good coverage skills for a MLB (C ZCV and C- MCV). He hit power will not scare anyone (C) but his STR (B) is elite.

Prime, you seem to be bringing in quite the class.

Interesting Agility for that CB, never would have pictured him at a C+ there.

yea, dont like it, but figure after 2 years of progression it will be in the low 80s which is fine, id rather have low AGI than low ACC that is for sure. EA really screwed me with xavier rhodes and juco xfer mike harris as they both have bad acceleration :0

class is nice and small, only lose 8 seniors this year so even with 1 or 2 juniors bolting i will only sign around 12 players or so total and that is if any in post season look good and sign with me.

So refresh my memory are we allowed to sign over the 70 possible spots available? I was thinking no but I might have been remembering a discussion and not what is actually in place.

pretty sure we can if one wants to, i just dont have a need this year.

  7. #87
You are free to sign as many as you want. I don't think it will be a problem this year.

He'll for sure end up around a mid 80 and i agree that acc is a bigger asset this year it seems.

Is the limit still 70 players? So we will need to cut people by doing so correct?

yea, i dont think i could sign more than 15 players that i really want 4*s or greater in a season even with a lucky draw (as far as competition from users) and a few quick commits...

yea skip, roster limit is still 70

ok thanks, well then I won't even bother trying to go over the limit because its just going to make more work for me to do lol. I always hated having to do that.

yea, i dont like cutting anyone, especially after a few years when any 'scrubs' on the original roster have been purged or graduated.

I think I'm good as far as seniors leaving and recruits coming in. I doubt I get all 15 that is currently on my board, but I shouldn't have to cut anyone at the end of the off season.

I agree the ships probably won't be a problem to a degree, though I do enjoy a plus 2 or 3 just to keep from hoarding talent and keeping it from other users, and the CPU. No worries though.

In a related article about recruiting and the tactics of certain programs I thought I'd share this link.

The CPU has done a nice job of bringing in a good class so far at USC.... even though they've signed 3 guards and I have another that has me #1 and I have 5 on my roster and only losing 1. I guess some position changes will be in their future.

Quick recap of the class so far.

    Cameron Bryan 5* T
    Ryan Jones 5 * G
    James Louis 5* DE
    Justin Williamson 4* OLB
    George Goins 4* OLB
    Darius Daniel 4* WR
    Richard Williams 4* G
    Nick Leslie 4* G
    Clay Jackson 4* CB
    Ray Jordan 3* FB

I'm surprised they haven't signed any RBs yet.

Funny thing is they don't even have any RBs on the board... and I'm losing 2.

OUCH, bucking the tradition was the CPU. Just offer one of them a house, I'm sure they'll take it.

USC is so incredibly overpowered in recruiting this year, it's ridiculous.
