Skyrim is 50% off on Steam.
Even at 50% it's not worth it. It wasn't worth it for free.
Mors likes to just put negatives all over Skyrim every chances he gets
I've put over 90 hours into it, I love the game.
I didn't think it was terrible, but I did think it was mind-numbingly boring for the most part. I don't do well with open world games and Skyrim especially got boring to me extremely quickly. I will get back into it eventually, though.
The Political Machine 2012 was buggy as hell when I played it earlier. I had multiple slowdowns and when I would check to see how many resources were being used, it said it was taking up 1.3GB of RAM. WHAT? I also had numerous times where I couldn't right click to travel to another state and had to exit out of the game and go back in to correct it. Hopefully they fix those things.
It's boring as hell... Disappointed I spent $10 on it...
I agree that it's boring after awhile. I'd have to problem spending $5 on it but at $10 I do feel a little ripped off. Oh well. Girlfriend loves it so it'll give her something to do.
I didn't even get your message. I was closing out Steam every 2 or 3 minutes trying to get the stupid right click to work in the game. That's a pretty huge bug to have.
So with EA creating Origin, will it work the same as Steam? Multiple computer connections, no expirey, etc. all the stuff steam has is also in Origin?
I truthfully don't know, but I just stick with Steam. Origin is a fuckin' virus (aka needing special software to uninstall) and it's a god damn headache to install to begin with. I specifically DIDN'T purchase BF3 because EA insisted on putting it out on Origin only. If they continue to do that, I will continue to not purchase their games. They either start supporting Steam by releasing their software on Steam, or I won't be purchasing it.
Hate EA much? You don't need anything special to uninstall (that I know of) I have uninstalled it once it I simply clicked uninstall, it is supposed to operate like steam but I haven't purchased anything through it mostly because there is nothing on there that is worth my money. I cant say I blame them for doing there own thing.
When they attempt to do something that Steam does better in every way, shape, and form? Absolutely. Fuck EA and their money grubbing executives. They would have sold twice as many copies of Battlefield 3 if they would just suck it up and pay Valve their 15% to have it on Steam.
Agreed. I'm not buying anything unless it's on Steam. I've used Origin and I think it sucks. It does pretty much the exact same thing Steam does, but not nearly as well. Steam has an amazing user interface which is why it'll always be the go to client for PC gaming. Also, considering EA was throwing bitch fits about Steam and their massive sales, I think it's safe to say EA wont be throwing sales. You'll be paying MSRP for pretty much everything through Origin which is a huge turn off to me.
I was going to get BF3 but since it's not on Steam, I passed. The same goes for Crysis 3. I want that bad boy for PC, but if it's not on Steam, I'm not getting it for PC...that's for sure.
Yeah, because all the alternatives are totally altruistic and not doing it for profit at all .................
I'm not a fan of the Origin service or what they're trying to do, but executives being "money grubbing" is hardly a reason to choose one over another. You wouldn't be left with practically anybody.

15% of 3 million copies is alot of money. I can't say I blame them, I will agree it does suck and they rarely mark down anything which is why I don't use it.

They're money grubbing because they refuse to pay Valve their cut on the profits (something like 15% from what I've heard).
Taking into account the fact that games that go on sale by even 30% increase their sales two fold, EA could have EASILY made twice the money they currently made on Battlefield 3 by distributing it via steam instead of trying to get all of the profits through a proprietary delivery system.
Games like The Binding of Issac sell a million copies through steam by basically just word of mouth. I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe that EA couldn't market their game through Steam at a discounted price of 10-30% and make a KILLING. Give someone the ability to buy the game for 30% what the normal retail places are selling it for, and you are GUARANTEED to sell more copies than the retail store will.
I was VERY interested in Battlefield 3, until I heard that it was only going to be released via Origin. I'm one of at least a few thousands customers that didn't buy BF3 for our PC because of EA's inability to play nice with a 3rd party distributor.
