it wasnt sarcasm, it was a comparison

Anybody here have Verizon Fios internet?? Is it worth the money? I have looked up reviews but I would like to know from someone first hand that has it. I have been stuck with TWC TV and internet for my whole life so this time when I move I want to get what I want.

I've heard it's amazing (retarded fast) but I've, unfortunately, never had the pleasure of experiencing it first hand.

Be sure to let us know how awesome it is if you do get it.

If you had a 360, you could also access tv shows and such through their app.

I am debating if I just want to get Verizon TV and internet or just the internet. I want Direct TV for Sunday NFL Ticket but I noticed Verizon offers NFL Network also. I could just pay for the NFL Ticket through my PS3 and end up with cheaper payments I believe. Have to do more research.

Also, what speed internet does everyone have?
    Fios offers 15/5
    25/25
    50/25

I am wondering if the 15/5 will be good enough or should I splurge and go with the 25/25. Decisions decisions, lol

Really, the only reason to go higher than the 15/5 is if you want better upload speeds (if you plan on doing anything that actually requires such things), otherwise, once you hit 15 megs/sec, it's all throughput to the actual servers that would bog you down (aka peak hours of Youtube where shit goes slow no matter how fast your internet is).

15/5 is MORE than enough for online gaming and watching streaming TV. Hell, it's enough to pirate shit at a pretty ridiculous rate AND still playing a game online or watch streaming TV with no hiccups in either thing.

All that said, me personally, if the 50/25 wasn't ridiculous expensive, I'd go with it because more is ALWAYS better.

Yeah, but the 25/25 is only $20 dollars more a month! There will be quite a few devices all online at the same time though. Laptops, tablets, phones, gaming consoles. I need to call tomorrow so I need to hurry up and decide, lol.

My big question is really the TV. Jumping between Fios TV and Direct TV. I really want Sunday ticket. Damn, the pressure.

Yeah, it is crazy expensive. $110 dollars all by itself. Right now if I were to get the Extreme TV package(includes NFL Network) and the 25/25 internet it would be just under $120 a month. And actually, it is 35/35 for an extra $5 a month so I may do that. My wife may kill me though. She wants to go cheaper and I am going the complete opposite. LOL

Yes and yes, unless, of course, you have a comparable speed option at a lower price. I'm not really paying much of a premium price for my FiOS internet, so it's certainly worth it. Even on my craptastic two computers, the download speed is amazing. The PS3 is still slow, but I don't think that's the fault of my Internet, and I think I'm still faster than most others.

I must have been Grandfathered in, because I have 20/5 (plus Extreme HD) for $110/month. It's plenty fast. The only time I ever think "go faster!" is when I'm downloading gigs and gigs of stuff, usually only on my PS3 (demos, full games, etc).

Cool Jeff, I think we settled on the Extreme HD plus 35/35 for about $123/month.(5 TV hookups) I am very excited to have a much faster internet compared to what I have been used to.(Brighthouse sucks) I will probably just get NFL Ticket on my PS3 as my birthday/anniversary present.

I can't find it on this month's bill, but I'm pretty sure I pay for my DVR and ancient-looking cable de-scrambler (lol, can't remember what it's called, but it's not an STB and effectively all it does is descramble the channels) every month. So be wary of that when you sign up for equipment for all five of those TVs. The multi-room DVR and STBs is probably your best option unless you're planning to record (and keep) a ton of HD.

I'm not sure. I don't recognize her without the peep hole around her and the hair brush in her hand.

Oh, we are only using 3 HD Set up Boxes and 2 digital connectors or something like that. I am calling today so I will double check before I actually order everything. Thanks for the heads up though.
