Hey, when playing with the ATH can you set them as like back up QB, 1st string wr and 3ed hb? or do we have to give them a position? Because in ncaa i think you can only use k and punters as back ups for the qb's

Are you talking as far as when you get to the position changes portion of the off-season tasks? If you are, it's been confirmed by JB that yes, you will have to change your athlete to a specific position like we currently do. As for will they still be any good in other positions after you've assigned them an "official position", I have no idea.
If you had a QB, RB, LB triple threat athlete, theoretically it's conceivable that even after you would make that athlete's "official position" as say an LB, that he would still have the skills and still rate fairly highly if you tried to make him a backup in the QB and RB positions. Maybe JB, G or cdj can give us a definite answer as to what will be expected with the triple threat athletes and their capabilities in other positions after you've assigned them one or at least track one down from the devs.
I'd hate to think that a triple threat athlete would become just like any other athlete like we have now, where he might be good as a RB/WR, OLB/MLB, or CB/SS/FS, but after that he sucks in all other positions. If a guy comes in as QB, RB, LB triple threat athlete, if I make him officially a LB, he should still have his ratings and skills to at least still be a capable player at QB and RB.
It seemed like, from what I was reading in the blogs/podcasts/whatever, that what they've really tweaked is how applicable a triple threat athlete is to other positions. If you look at ATHs we have now, there are quite a few that really can only go to one position. Sure, if you really wanted to, they could do a second position, maybe third. But that's rare in the current set of ATHs.
I imagine they'll still "suck" at the other positions once we assign them to a single position, but there's a difference between "oh, his AWR just sucks" and "wow, he doesn't even have the skills".

Amen Jayrah. If I have a 71 OVR wide receiver, 73 OVR cornerback and a 74 OVR safety, if I were to make him a safety, while I would expect a small drop in OVR for the wide receiver and cornerback positions, he should still be good enough and retain his ratings and skills for the wide receiver and cornerback positions that would at least make him a viable backup or third stringer.
Would be disappointed if that wasn't the case, but, I would venture to guess that it will be the case. The attributes that make him good at WR as well as CB aren't going to magically change if you make him a FS instead. He'll still have good route running, man coverage, and catching, he'll just have lower awareness at those positions than he would at FS.
Yep. I'm not looking for a triple threat athlete that would be able to start at two positions at the same time, just someone who will be REALLY good at his one assigned positions and decently good at his "secondary" two positions, where he could be a viable backup, a third stringer, or in the case of being a wide receiver, capable of being a part of formation subs and being a 3rd, 4th or 5th receiver on the field.
a triple threat athlete better be a lot of fun..like the ability to win a heisman with a old school 2 way player !

When looking for an athlete, I won't need any real "triple threat" players. I just want to be able to run some read option so I just need someone fast who is serviceable at QB.
I'm hoping there are some defensive ATH players that might make serviceable 3-4 OLBs. Those have been difficult to find the last couple years.

I am looking forward to recruit ATHs this year after not recruiting them in past years. I like that now they can play multiple positions rather than just one positions.
But, when I recruit a ATH I will be recruiting Athletes to play multiple positions. So, I will focus on scouting the ATHs to see if they can make a impact in multiple areas.
I want to find the Percy Havin's or D'Anthony Thomas's of the college world. I wont go after ATH QB's though. I also wont have my ATHs start. I will have them as backups who come in the game alot
Not sure if this fits this thread, but will we be able to add teambuilder teams to conferences or still have to sub out another school. I thought they couldn't do that before because of the 120 game scheduling (I believe I read that somewhere). Now that there are more schools (124?) will this still be the case? Maybe they could have you serve the first year as an independent and replace FCS teams on the other teams schedules?
