Not saying it bothers me. I am just saying it just shouldn't be mandated.
well, with the new tech, it may less weight now anyway.. but the guys will probably do what they did before not wearing them and thats shave them down or something to lighten them...but i'm sure nike and under armour are creating new lighter stuff to use.
LOL hey, if the pads are a little thick like the 70s and start slowing down these video game passing stats, I'm all for it !!!
(sigh)
Pussy ass arbitrator for case regarding absolutely bullshit and totally unfounded cap penalties for Redskins and Cowboys threw out the case today and the Redskins and Cowboys are accepting that bullshit because, otherwise, their win could actually tear the CBA and thus the NFL apart. FUCK YOU ROGER GOODELL and especially FUCK YOU MARA ASSHOLES. I hope you all rot in a special kind of hell.
Redskins @Redskins
Joint statement by the #Redskins and #Cowboys on the salary cap: "“We pursued our salary cap claim pursuant to the CBA...(more)
"and we respect and will abide by the arbitrator's decision to dismiss. We will continue to focus on our football teams and the 2012 season”
I'm surprised the NFL got away with that and I'm more surprised the players went along with it. That's a crapload of money the players won't be getting from the Cowboys and Redskins next year. I guess "uncapped" year isn't really an uncapped year. This stinks of collusion.
On the surface it looks like the rich trying to abuse the system, but Mara's involvement in blowing the whistle is VERY suspect considering it's two division rivals. Also, at the same time the league had to approve these restructures knowing that they were abusing the system to gain an advantage in later years. From the NFL's side of things, the penalties are not because of what they did in 2010, it's what they did for the future, giving them a competitive advantage.
They didn't break any rules at all. In fact, they did something that the Bears, Tampa Bay, as well as several other teams did the same way just not as much as the Redskins and Cowboys did. In fact, the CBA was ratified to make it a rule WAY after the fact (including after Goodell handed down his punishment for something that wasn't a rule yet).
The facts are this: Under the old CBA rules (which were in effect during the uncapped year) no rules, at all, were broken by any team by doing what they did, yet, the Redskins and the Cowboys were the only teams that were punished for doing it. Funny how that works eh?
If they want to make something mandatory, they should make mouthpiece's.
NFL Owners vote to move the trade deadline from after week 6 to after week 8.
Didn't everyone expect the rich owners to abuse the system if it went to an uncapped year? Of course they abused the system but they didn't break any rules while doing it. The truth is some of the cheap owners went way under the old salary cap floor in the uncapped year. Why was that OK but not a rich owner from dumping cap charges in an uncapped year? This was always the fear of the uncapped year but instead it became an unofficially capped year. It's completely bogus imo and I don't care about the Cowboys and Redskins (don't like Snyder).
I'm just looking at it from both perspectives. From the NFL's side, they're abusing the system years in advance of the uncapped year. It's the other years outside of and after 2010 that they're looking at.
As expected, the NFLPA files a collusion lawsuit against the NFL owners.
There are some things that just shouldn't be shared on social media
