Well, IMO, it's not a "problem", per se, but an ambiguity. We've talked about "Showstoppers" before, and this is a similar thing. There is a very big difference between "I'm not interested"/"I don't want that" and "I couldn't care less". The former would be a negative result if you pitched it, in real life, the latter is indifferent.
But I think we're also getting stuck in the weeds. There should be alternatives to pitching Low/Low combinations now. Unless it's during the initial unknown-importance stage, you're probably not going to have a Low pitch come up. If it does, I would think you'd still have options like doing a promise instead.
And how to do that in a game console's ridiculously low amount of memory. Memory cost has been my working theory, though you're absolutely right about the risk of cascading effects (changes to recruiting, transfers, etc that would all come about because of 2000+ extra players)

alright, long list of questions coming since i havent seen the podcast yet, and probably wont get to until sometime this weekend.
- i saw earlier in the thread that the A+/Most combo can yield up to 200 points now. does this also apply to other green/green combos (ie: A+/Very High, A/High, etc)? obviously they wont get as much as the A+/Most combo, but do the other green/green combos get over 100 points as well?
- when scouting a wr for instance....is there a logic to which ratings unlock or is it random? like am i gonna find out his run block strength or his pass block footwork ratings or does it focus on the strengths of the recruit's position(s)?
- i'm assuming they allowed the given measurable ratings for recruits (speed, strength, etc) to be seen without scouting?
- when scouting, what controls how many ratings are unlocked and how big of a range is given?
- decommitments? if not, does the soft verbal stage at least last longer than 2 weeks?
- i saw the roulette system was gone. did we return to the old spam away style or is it some kind of combo between the two sytems?
- will conference logos on jerseys update with a conference move?
- talked about in the recruiting in ncaa13 thread, are pipelines redone? bragging rights over another school in the recruit's top 10? dealbreakers?
- does the recruit's hidden potential still have an impact on how he's rated? do you still see 5* receivers with B- speed?
- are recruiting class rankings still WR and RB heavy?
- ability to downplay a recruit's interest in a pitch?
- school recruiting identities?
- position minimums? will i be forced to carry a fullback if i'm playing as hawaii?
- anything else in general?
thanks

I'll take a stab at this one.
Yes, it will be random.
But you'll only be unlocking the "primary" ratings for a player's position -- i.e. the ones that you would see on the recruit's Player Card or on the Dynasty Wire website. Not every rating.
Obviously, I don't know the answer, but I'm pretty confident I'll be right
Cross-breed. Coach has control over pitches, can give the recruit the ability to pick a pitch (reverse of the "Coach's Choice" moments), Recruit will only pick pitches average-or-above if given his choice. You can't repeat a pitch, so the old Spam system is not back. And I believe it's still hard limited to 10-60 minutes, so no return of the 3 hour phone calls.

My vote came down between Dynamic Recruiting Pitches and Triple Threat Athletes, but in the end I went with ATH just because of the fun factor it is going to add to recruiting now. Granted the Dynamtic Pitches will do the same in terms of fun factor, but it's more of a realistic adjustment; where you are going to have a ton of possibilities and a ton of fights over ATH's this year.
i saw earlier in the thread that the A+/Most combo can yield up to 200 points now. does this also apply to other green/green combos (ie: A+/Very High, A/High, etc)? obviously they wont get as much as the A+/Most combo, but do the other green/green combos get over 100 points as well?
Yeah, you should see other combos get you over 100 as well. Not sure of a range or where the cutoff is but they're definitely stretched higher this year.
when scouting a wr for instance....is there a logic to which ratings unlock or is it random? like am i gonna find out his run block strength or his pass block footwork ratings or does it focus on the strengths of the recruit's position(s)?
No, you'll only see ratings important to a WR for straight WRs. The ones that unlock are random, but still yet, they'll only be stuff like CTH, ACC, etc. For example, here is a HB.
i'm assuming they allowed the given measurable ratings for recruits (speed, strength, etc) to be seen without scouting?
Yes... those are still seen. However, I'm not sure if they change based on your scouting or not. For example, in the past, listing as a 4.35 was an A speed or something... not sure if you scout him and discover his speed is actually an 85 if his speed will then reflect that. I believe it does but I'm not certain.
when scouting, what controls how many ratings are unlocked and how big of a range is given?
You pick how much time, similar to recruiting, 10-60 minutes. The more time you give him, the more potential for attributes to be unlocked. I think roughly 60 minutes will unlock just about all of a players attributes however ATHs are different since they show a lot more attributes.
decommitments? if not, does the soft verbal stage at least last longer than 2 weeks?
No decommitments I don't believe, but not sure about the soft-verbal question.
i saw the roulette system was gone. did we return to the old spam away style or is it some kind of combo between the two sytems?
It's essentially a combo. You're still limited to only 60 minutes, you choose what you want to talk about and then move to the next pitch. However, similar to last year's system, there's now a "recruit's choice" to where if you let the recruit pick the pitch, it will give you a bonus.
will conference logos on jerseys update with a conference move?
I don't know a definitely answer but my best guess is no.
talked about in the recruiting in ncaa13 thread, are pipelines redone? bragging rights over another school in the recruit's top 10? dealbreakers?
I don't think they're redone complete but they're slightly better... not sure to what extent but during the webcast, Jordan was saying if the player happens to be from the same town as the school, you'll get an A+ for distance. Not sure if they measured that out to regions or if it's just your one city gives you a bonus. Honestly, hearing it in the webcast was the first I'd heard of it.
does the recruit's hidden potential still have an impact on how he's rated? do you still see 5* receivers with B- speed?
Yes to both I believe. However now, you won't be certain until you scout him and find out if he's just overrated for a 5-star.
are recruiting class rankings still WR and RB heavy?
Not sure... didn't spend enough time with it to give a definitive answer. Ask again when/if we get early copies.
ability to downplay a recruit's interest in a pitch?
No, I believe it's still only sway up.
school recruiting identities?
Not sure I understand what you're asking here. Do you mean like PSU is LB U?
position minimums? will i be forced to carry a fullback if i'm playing as hawaii?
Yeah, I think that's still the same as it was previously. At least I'm not aware of any changes.
anything else in general?
Umm... maybe?
I also thought of this. I agree with you that ATH's will add such a huge fun factor and realistic factor to the game. I have been wanting TRUE athletes for such a long time. It will be pretty nice to see guys who can play both sides of the ball, and be able to switch positions. The recruiting is going to be a blast this year!
Any news on the full replay of the webcast
So could I get some more info on the mock draft ranking? What does this look like exactly? What do you get to see?
They showed a screenshot during the webcast so if it ever gets published you'll see it but it's part of the players leaving screen. It will show you what round they project to and then you can attempt to sway them to stay through promises (if they're eligible) . I believe one of those promises is that you will improve their draft stock or guarantee first round or something like that.
Not sure how draft stock is calculated but I imagine it's stats plus ratings.
So do we have to lock in an ATH at a position like in the past or is there a new slot for them as ATH? If we have to lock it in as a position how will that affect a players' development among his other "best" positions as far as ratings increase? So if we lock in a Wr/Db/Qb at Wr how will the 2 positional attributes of Db/Qb be affected?
I would hope they accounted for stats plus ratings plus physical attributes and then locked in the "ideal" physical set for a Great/Good/Avg player in the NFL at each position. But I'm guessing they left off the attributes part of it, which means it won't be perfect projections, but the idea is awesome anyways.
I seem to remember a scheduling bug at certain times when making changes to conferences. Anyone know if this was fixed?
