A daunting schedule coming up. First, the last game of our home and home contract with Texas A&M dating back to 2010, we add #20 Washington with a 2 for 1 contract (at mors' request), our usual game with Louisville, and our usual game with UCF, who is ranked #10 going into the season, which has been bumped down to a week 14 match-up due to scheduling differences.

Looking at my schedule, I can very easily see us being 0-3 going into the North Texas game, and going 0-4 altogether in our non-conference games for 2013.

Florida International, Washington Agree to Two and One Series

With an opening in the schedule for 2013, the Florida International athletic department went out in search of a fourth non-conference opponent for 2013. While the Golden Panthers had plenty of interest of teams in the MAC, Conference USA and Mountain West, the Panthers decided to go a step higher and go in touch with the athletic department of the Washington Huskies, looking to set up something. After multiple discussions, it was decided to play a two and one series, putting the first Pac-12 opponent (outside of a bowl game) on the Golden Panthers schedule.

Head coach Mario Cristobal stated that he looks forward to taking the field with the Huskies, hoping to see how his Golden Panthers can match up with a top 25 program after a very successful 2012 season in Miami.

Florida International will play at Washington this year (2013), Washington will then make a trip to FIU Stadium in 2014, with the Golden Panthers scheduled to return to Washington in the third and final leg of the series in 2015.

Wow man, that's one hell of a tough schedule. UCF or Boise State look like the favorites for the Big East, which is damn interesting. WVU is going to get trounced in the Big 12 (unlike in real life ). Holy crap does Oklahoma and Wisconsin look unstoppable. Jesus.

Definitely going to be an interesting season for you. You lack of depth on the offensive line might come back to haunt you (hopefully it doesn't), but damn does Storm Johnson look like a beast (can you do a rundown of his attributes? I'm interested. ). And you have back your All-American DT, a crazy talented MLB transfer (which I totally forgot until going back and reading that he transferred from Miami to you as well), and three pretty decent corners. Looks like you have some pieces to really be good. Your offensive line isn't great, but it looks like it should be talented enough to run the ball 45+ times with Johnson and Mallary and, while he's not rated really highly, Wayne Times looks like he could be a good target for you. At least Medlock increased fairly decently (+4 from last year). Sucks that he's a Senior. Looks like, if I were you, I'd be jumping ship after this season unless you didn't get any decent offers. You're gonna have a hard time keeping up your success after this season with the lack of talent you have on your team.

Yeah, I forgot I had the home game of our series with Texas A&M coming up this year. This could be one rough rough year non-conference-wise. A preseason top 10 team, a preseason top 20 team, a very tough Texas A&M team, and a Louisville team that I'm still winless against, despite the Cardinals going 5-7 and 4-8 the past two seasons.

Yeah, Oklahoma might be making a return to the championship game unless someone knocks them off. They look deadly. I wouldn't be surprised to see Oklahoma and Wisconsin in the championship game at the end of the season.

Yeah, that's one area where I have failed in recruiting, is I've really ignored my offensive line, trying to go after bigger and better HBs, WRs, defensive players, etc. I haven't decided what I'm going to do at the end of this year yet. I really want to stay next year because Storm Johnson is only a junior, but the big dropoff in QB and the pretty much empty O-line, it could get ugly next year. I'll have to see how I do in recruiting this year.

    Holy hell!

That guy is superhuman. Jesus christ. 93 overall with an awareness rating of 57! He's gonna be 99 overall his senior season; no doubt about it.

I can definitely see where you're coming from not wanting to leave with him still on the roster, but, unless you are able to pick up a REALLY talented freshman QB, you're gonna be hard pressed to have much offensively besides him. Not that you couldn't be successful with just him, but, man, that's tough.

I know. I've been drooling for the past season about just the thought of getting him on the field. I'm sorry Darrian Mallary, but you've just become second fiddle on my rushing attack. Yeah, that's what is holding me back about my future. I'm hoping to either get a really talented freshman QB, or hope that Lorenzo Hammonds will make a 4-6 point jump in the off-season so that he'd at least be serviceable for, if anything, one extra season.

And really, for the most part, Hammonds isn't terribly horrible. Medlock right now has 84 throw power, 84 throw accuracy, 61 awareness, among other stats. Hammonds has 75 throw power, 75 throw accuracy, and 58 awareness, among other stats. So he's not THAT far behind Medlock, and I figure with off-season training, Hammonds could be close to or around 80 throwing power/accuracy next season, which he would only be a junior next season. So he would be a fairly decent fill-in for guy for me, if anything until I can get a better QB via recruiting, if I do decide to stay.

Holy tables, Batman. (And I was still on the previous page!)

Smooth, I used to do an online RPG-like game that involved a lot of writing. I think that burnt me out to the idea of "writing for fun" for the rest of my life.

And yes, if I ever do get back to my dynasty, I'll be stealing some of your tables

Yes, I live and die by the tables in my dynasty threads. Keeps things much more orderly, organized and aligned.

Yeah, I've always been a big writer. In HS and college, I could take a paper that only needed to be 2-3 pages, and by the time I was done, I had 5+ pages in it. As well, I worked for the sports department of the local newspaper for 3 years during high school and early college, so I spent a lot of time writing summaries of local HS games, covering games and writing stories on them, writing feature stories, etc. While I've since left print and moved onto radio, I've still always had that writing bug in me. I can take something that could be said in two or three simple sentences, and turn it into five paragraphs. I think that's what keeps me going when stuff like this, because it gives me something to channel that writer inside of me into.

That was what I've always enjoyed about doing this stuff. Gives me a reason to make use of my writing skills.

Damn, I'm really getting the itch to play NCAA again. I just really enjoy the strategical theories behind the game, but just don't have as much fun actually carrying them out in the game.

Yep. With working in radio right now, I really don't use my writing skills all that much, at least not as much as I used to. So this gives me an outlet for them.

It just keeps trying to suck you back in. Thankfully, I've either been away long enough, or whatever any issues I was experiencing back in the fall when I last played were fixed, but I've been having a blast this second time around. Haven't run into any issues, no BS from the CPU or anything, just fun game after fun game, whether I win or lose.

Poor Mallary...he's set all the reushing records in my od for FIU in the SBCOL. Also Rhymes is a beast for me at TE.

Wish Storm Johnson would have switched to me in my OD haha, I got Shayon Green tho!

Yeah, FIU has a line of good HBs, with Darriet Perry the first year, Darrian Mallary and Jeremiah Harden the second year, Darrian Mallary the third year. Then I hit the jackpot with Storm Johnson, giving me him the third year as well. Unfortunately for Mallary, despite breaking/setting every one but the career rushing records, I just can't start him over Storm Johnson when it's so night and day as to their ratings.

Yep, Rhymes is one of my favorite players. He has come through huge for me from as TE. We've almost become New England Patriots like, with Rhymes some game being my main target and letting him be the workhorse of my passing game instead of my WRs.

Haha, yeah, if you gotten Storm Johnson in the OD, you'd be tearing it up on the field. At least you got Shayon Green though, he was a huge boost to my MLB corps.

Awesome effort Smooth! I have read through the last couple pages and just could not get enough. After reading this, and once the Gaming Tailgate Fifa Tourney is done I will have to get back into NCAA. Hey, out of curiosity, how are my ASU SunDevils doing in your CC Dynasty?

While browsing back through some posts, I just noticed your edit Jeff. That's cool with me. That's one thing I was telling everyone who was interested from day one, anything from this dynasty that people want to steal/use/borrow in terms of layout, tables, etc, they are more than welcome.

I appreciate it jaymo! I'm having a blast with this dynasty. As for ASU, unfortunately not so good. The Sun Devils went 4-8 in the first year and went 5-7 last season. I'm still in week 1 in season 3 as I have a game against Texas A&M yet to play, but I'll keep an eye on ASU for you as the season goes on. Anyone else who wants me to check in on and keep an eye on their teams throughout the season, just let me know.

I know what you mean. I was the type that could do a paper at the last minute because of my writing skills. I don't use it at all now, but part of the problem I have with dynasty (much like the RPG I mentioned before) is that I'm just not very creative. I'm good with one-liners here and there, but I could never come up with the themes and fantastical things that some people put in their dynasties. And as much as I love the detail that you are pouring into yours, I could never sit there and keep that level of detail on a game-by-game basis. I'm much better at the AAR (After Action Report) kind of stuff -- post game analysis and statistical analysis

I'm much better at the AAR (After Action Report) kind of stuff -- post game analysis and statistical analysis
Yep, I was the same way. In college, in my Criminal Law class, we had a paper due at the start of class, 8am Monday morning. I literally started the paper (typed the very first words), at 2am that Monday morning, 6 hours before class started. In those 6 hours, not only did I pound out of a 5 page paper, but, I ended up getting a 97 on the paper, completely screwing the curve the entire class, and causing all my classmates to be pissed at me. Some of them had scores in 60s and low 70s, so they were hoping for a generous curve, until my paper screwed it all up.

However, since those days, as I said in a previous post, working in radio, I don't really get a chance to put my writing skills and talents to any real use. So when it comes to stuff like this, I enjoy going all out and making it very detailed and putting the work into it. Also, I have a tendency in me of wanting to make things as best as I can, and when it comes to stuff like this, I almost am forced to make it very clean, well laid out, very detailed, etc, otherwise it bothers me, as I view my work as an extension of my personal self, and if I'm going to put my work out there in public, I want it to be the best it can be, and not just "here's something I just tossed together".

It's called being anal. (I'm the same way)
