I had the Mace of Molag Bal, and then I found "Dawnbreaker".... It is a sword that I now use exclusively along with a ebony sword (dual wielding). Grinds up undead.

    Spoiler: show

Finding the large Statue of Meridia starts the quest.

Oh, I have like 70 or something in one-handed weapons at lvl 33, but it doesn't matter. I have 330 hitpoints (+30 from an amulet) but magic is absolutely RAPING me and I'm fighting Ancient Dragons now whose breathe weapon just completely DESTROYS me. It's damn frustrating. I may have to go back and make myself a really nice shield so I can work on getting blocking up more (currently at 40 something) cause I got bored of sword and board and went back to dual wielding one-handed weapons.

On a side note, Famitsu gives the game a perfect score. 40/40 They do tend to give out more perfect scores these days but the interesting but is this is the first game created in the Western Hemisphere to get a perfect score.

Sure the game is far from perfect and the combat system still feels off to me but when you look at the scope of the game and all the things at your disposal, I think it is a fitting score.

Yeah it's amazing how organic the game is. If it is true that side quests continue to generate throughout the life of the game...that will be just amazing.

They will, but it will just be things like, "Go to this cave and kill these bandits." or something like that. Really simple stuff, though there are some great quests that can happen if you "accidentally" use your shouts in public places.

It may lead you to some killer loot though

I wonder when relationships start? Is that when you reach a certain point in speechcraft? I have one chick on my nuts right now One of the shopkeepers sisters.

I don't know. I haven't really done anything with speechcraft, so that may be why I haven't had anything with the relationship stuff happen yet. Seems a bit silly to me, really.

Outside of an item boosting your speech, all I have found to improve speechcraft is mercantile stuff. I think I'm about 25.

I've only got 20 hours in so far. But I'm ready for some Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

In the story, I find it interesting that the Mages Guild is basically wiped out in Cyrodiil, and only Winterhold has mages in a concentrated study. I wonder if any of the DLC expands on the downfall of mages.

Yeah, pretty much the only way to increase speechcraft is via books, "bartering" with merchants, being able to lie/persuade people through dialog options, or going to a trainer (the Bards College in Solitude).

As for the mages and such, it is definitely interesting that they've been wiped out. There seems to be quite a bit of hate toward the mages in Skyrim and it seems like they are almost being blamed for the Oblivion Crisis, even though it was clearly the Mythic Dawn cult who caused all of that. Maybe they are connecting necromancers with the Mythic Dawn or something? I'm not sure, but there is definitely a lot of hate for mages in Skyrim.

Speaking of books, I don't think this was posted yet, but someone took the time to actually make an ebook of all of the books from Skyrim (pretty fuckin' cool):

I bet the further you get into Skyrim, the more you'll find out about it. I already get nasty comments coming my way for being associated with them.

We forgive you if you're already overwhelmed by Skyrim's ongoing notifications of new discoveries -- there's kind of a lot of stuff to do in Bethesda's latest Elder Scrolls realm. But for the rest of you fearless wanderers, the un-overwhelmable, Gamebanshee.com has put together this highly detailed, totally printable map of Skyrim's many, many locations.

And if you should be so inclined to, say, print out a giant version of said map and adorn your wall with it, the cartographers responsible also have you covered (.ZIP link). If it weren't already clear that you've still got plenty left to explore in Skyrim, this map should handily clarify that. Just look at all that tiny writing! Those are all places!

Per that map's location guide, there are 436 different locations to explore.

How to get hitched in Skyrim

Again, seems silly and just kinda thrown in there for no real reason, but, to each his own.
