Skyrim is on the way. Just picked up MW3 and Skyrim with the buy 1, get 1 50% off deal through Amazon, so with the free two-day shipping, Skyrim will be here by Thursday.

I love the Thieves' Guild. In Oblivion, I'd steal shit out of the castles all the time. That was the most fun. For the Countess of Bruma I had to go fetch the Draconian Madstone, then when I took it back to her, all she did was put it in a case behind the throne pick the lock, and thank you!

But since I had that and a lot of other stolen goods that I kept for myself because of their powers, I always had to run away from the cops. I didn't want to have to try to fetch them out of the box after going to jail so I just ran like Forrest Gump.

my problem when running away, is that i always push too hard on the joystick and my guy goes into sneak mode. i've died a bunch because of that.

easy way to increase your sneak, just continually keep walking into a rocky ledge (obviously while hidden). in 10 minutes, i upped my sneak from 31-37.

edit* wrong thread. please move to skyrim thread.

Minecraft easter egg makes its way into Skyrim

Pictured above is the Notched Pickaxe, which looks an awfully lot like the one from Minecraft -- Notch, you likely know, is the creator of the game. Hats off to the Bethesda devs for including this in the game. If you want to see it for yourself (and perhaps use it to kill a few of the smaller dragon pups), you can find it in The Throat of the World. It shouldn't be too hard to find the one-of-a-kind pickaxe stuck in the biggest mountain in the game

Overall, I'm level 13 (almost 14) and enjoying the hell out of being able to make my own badass equipment via Smithing abilities. Have a Smithing of 50 now, which means I could go with true Heavy Armor if I wanted to, but I think I'm going to stick with Light Armor for now as I start to be able to make Elven Light Armor.

Did a quest in Whiterun where I killed a Redguard militia leader (who totally look like guys from Arabia) and got some badass Scimitars, of which, I immediately went to the Skyforge in Whiterun and upgraded to be utterly ridiculous (30 damage with each one of them now that I have 2 perk points in One-Handed Weapon damage). I'm basically a killing machine.
Level 50 in Smithing? I'm jealous! I'm only at level 30 and I just got there this morning. So I finally can create Elvin and Dwarfen weapon and armor. I've learned all 3 words to "Unrelening Force" and I have 3 other shouts(a dash move, one that calms all beast, and the other allows me to be etheral).

Skyrim Update Coming for All Platforms

Patches are coming to fix reported bugs in Skyrim. Bethesda has confirmed that issues will be addressed for all systems, and that work is currently underway on the updates.

"We are continuing to work on an update for all platforms to address any bugs and [performance] issues we can," Bethesda VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines tweeted.

Hines addressed the concerns of fans on Twitter, including some who were a little impatient. In response to one tweet, Hines wrote, "Patches/updates take a little time. We can't turn it around quite that fast. It's been three days. Calm down. We're working on it."

The update will likely fix the Xbox 360 graphics issues that Bethesda has already addressed. A release for the patch hasn't been confirmed, and Hines wrote that the company is "not going to give timeframes on this" for now.

So I had an ally die and got akey to his house. Does this mean I can store my stuff there and it will remain? I know I can buy a house in whiterun but ive been staying away from the main story line and the other houses are far too expensive.

Yep. Anything you take from the house would still be considered stealing (at least I assume), but you can store items in the house with no problems. All houses are always expensive. It was that way in Oblivion too.

I broke down and purchased this game tonight for PC... I'll download it overnight and jump into it tomorrow night. I wanted to like Oblivion and I think after reading up on it, there are some decent changes and good potential here that I'll actually end up liking this. Plus I've been wanting a game that will take me forever to actually complete whereas here lately I can pick a game on a rental and have it completed in a couple of days.

This game will be here today, along with both MW3 and Halo. Ordered it at 4am yesterday morning with free 2 day shipping, it was shipped out by Amazon at 6pm last night, and it's already in town and on a truck for delivery. Now I'm stuck in a quandary. I'm only on Sequence 2 of Assassin's Creed Revelations, but I want to jump right into Skyrim too. This is going to be a bitch trying to juggle playing time for the two.

I would have been happy with a plain 2D map from Oblivion over that.

Just got home from a live drive for one of our campaigns, and what a wonderful site, two packages containing Skyrim, MW3 and Halo Anniversary sitting in my front door. AC Revelations is going to get pulled off of my 360 for tonight as I jump into Skyrim. Question is, is there anything I need to know about it? Is there anything from ES IV that I should know before I start playing this? I've never played any of the Elder Scrolls series before this game, so I have no idea if there is stuff I should know before I jump into Skyrim so that the story will make sense.
