With the videos and screenshots that have emerged so far of Battlefield 3 being nothing but impressive, it's been rather hard for fans of the series to hold in their excitement. Thanks to an article in the September issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, a detail regarding the "Battlelog" feature has been confirmed for Battlefield 3.
The excerpt from the article in the September issue states, "Taking a cue from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit's incredible, persistent world Autulog feature, "Battlelog" is how Battlefield will track real-time player stats, allowing gamers to create platoons (read: clans) and socialize with others.
The article states how EA plans for the "Battlelog" feature to be entirely free, and state's that it is "currently just a web application". Over the next few weeks, we're expecting EA to announce fully how the integration works in the retail version of Battlefield 3 which is due out in October. Be sure to pick up the September issue of the Official Xbox Magazine when it hits store shelves!

Battlefield 3 will have 10 times the hardware unlocks as Bad Company 2, in an obvious ploy to keep players away from friends, family and potential mates for years to come. Battleblog #5, "Years worth of unlocks and rewards in Battlefield 3," unsurprisingly boasts a massive unlock tree for vehicles and oodles of unlocks for weapons, weapons attachments and gadgets. It also lists awards, service stars, kit tailoring options and tactical unlock details.
Battleblog #5 focuses on Battlefield 3's "play it your way" philosophy, giving players more flexibility in creating their kits and earning service stars to keep us playing well into 2013 and beyond. Just not on Steam.
I sure hope that I don't still need my MOH anymore. I traded that in quite awhile ago.
Can't wait. This is going to be the first game of the series I've ever bought/owned/played, so looking forward to playing the beta. Maybe the beta will get me to actually give multiplayer a chance.
I've owned Black Ops since the day it came out, and have literally spent a total of 5 minutes in public multiplayer since release day because the public just pisses me off with their win at all costs bullshit. MW2 ruined it for me back in August 2009, and since then, multiplayer has essentially become dead to me in every game. I'll only play Combat Training where I can set how many AI opponents and what difficulty, or I'll play with friends in CT or Private Match. That's it for me in COD anymore.
I doubt it, but maybe this will give me new hope of a "dick around with my friends in a public multiplayer" game.
The last battlefield game was good to me in the physics. If you did a long sniper shot, you needed to adjust for distance and other things. Unlock COD, put the crosshairs on em and pull. I'm def. getting this over COD.
Has anyone read anything on how many players will be allowed in the online co-op campaign mode?
This game is already a no-brainer for me, but that mode is going to be sweet! I'm guessing it's 4 players, but definite word would be nice. I feel a GCH BF3 campaign coming on.![]()
Looking forward to getting this game.
LOL, I did just go through MW 2 so that helps a little. Albeit not much.
That will be a blast going through a co-op together. I'll get it release day or very close to if you guys are. Hope you changed your minutes JB, cause I can see it going crazy with NHL and this now added on top![]()
I'll lead you pricks into battle, just remember who got you where we are when we are finished![]()
