Has anyone from TGT asked EA if there will be another update? I'd sure like to see the "fixed" custom playbooks get fixed again, because having to take five or six formations you don't want sort of takes the "custom" out of custom playbooks ...

If custom playbooks aren't gonna be fixed, I think I'm trading in NCAA 12.

Is it really that hard to ignore the formations? I mean, seriously? Having a few extra formations certainly isn't the end of the world if it actually fixes the issues with CPB.

Yes, it is. The unwanted formations eat up valuable plays/space that I'd otherwise be using, and the dead space makes it annoying to navigate my playbook.

It's not really a "custom playbook" when we're forced to pad it with crap we don't want.

And the update, which took two MONTHS, didn't exactly "fix" the CPB issues we were having either; I still have unwanted 4 Verticals plays mysteriously appearing in my book even though they were never selected.

Yeah, but should we really give EA $60, then have to fix their problems? And it's not even a full fix.

Give me a freakin' break. It's FOUR formations. There's no way your playbook is made or broken by FOUR formations that you can't use because you have to use others. Sure, it's wasted space, but big whoop. Even someone like myself, who uses as many formations as I can fit in there at all times, I still find that I only use about half of them, at the most. So this crap of it being a huge issue because you have four formations that you don't use is just crap.

Then don't buy the game. This whole "$60 for whatever" bullshit is just that bullshit. Don't like it? Don't buy the game. It's really that simple. Using it as a complaint for the game is just dumb.

In the playbooks I've tested so far, the unwanted formations chew up about 25 plays on average. That's substantial -- enough that I'm having to cut plays out of my book.

And what's the deal with you always bullying everyone here with your macho "all your arguments are bullshit" argument? Relax. You're not the only one here with an opinion. Just because you're loud and hostile doesn't make your opinion any more valid than mine.

I haven't done any substantial testing but the one time I ran into this, it was only holding onto about 3 plays that I was trying to get rid of. I think if you choose a base playbook that has the a lot of the formations you want, you'll have much more success. Not saying that's how it should be, just saying that's how it is.

It is incredibly frustrating but for the time being our only options are to work with what we have or not work work with it at all.

    This patch is facepalm worthy.

I don't understand this attitude mors. Let's say I drive a truck. And everyone but Ford is precluded from building trucks. So ford builds a truck that they claim is better than any truck they or anyone else has ever built so I go ahead and buy the truck and it only turns left. You can look at me and say well buy a car, they turn right and left or just shut the hell up you have no right to complain. You can plan all of your trips where you can make a bunch of lefts to get to the same place.

That is the situation EA and the NCAA has put us in with the exclusive contract. I want to play college football, not a first person shooter. So if EA jacks shit up constantly, I do have a right to complain. I paid for the only game in town, which they advertised as having specific features that don't work correctly and sometimes not at all, but I can sometimes figure out a workaround. The point is, I shouldn't have to constantly figure out workarounds for all of the different ways that EA breaks the game they brag about so much.

To be fair, a truck costs thousands upon thousands of dollars. Depending on the buyer's job (and the truck), potentially an entire yearly salary. So you're talking about two drastically different scales of purchase.

But, the rest of your point is valid.

The way I see it, here's a lesson for all you people complaining about your $60 being wasted. Don't buy the game! Either don't buy it at all and save yourself from your inevitable bitching year after year, or a novel idea, wait for a week or two before buying it, or rent it first. After the community got it's hands on the game and started picking it apart with a fine tooth comb, that's when issues with the game finally started to come to the surface.

How about just not buying the game right away or renting it, and you'll find out about all of the issues with the game within a matter of days or a week, and you'll then be able to decide if you want to spend that $60 or not. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy the game on release day year after year. And if waiting a couple days or a week to buy a video game is too much or too hard for you do or achieve, you have much bigger issues, such as a lack of self-control, than wasting $60 on a video game.

Agreed about the scales of purchase, but the point remains the same, when you lock out a segment of any kind of market, you better be prepared to deliver the goods, or receive a ration of shit from your consumers. I won't ever call out you guys on what you do at the site, I enjoy visiting (obviously lurking with my post count), but EA deserves no leniency on their lack of quality assurance when it comes to their football titles. Unfortunately, that starts at the top and the most visible face, and the one who throws himself out there as the head of a great development team for NCAA Football 12. I would consider the development team at Tiburon average at best with the constant issues.

its just very disappointing... I would say NCAA 12 is about 25 % in the red in comparison to what ever happened to NBA Live until and unless they fix the bad fix

I'm going to disagree here. These problems are big problems but using a comparison of a truck that only turns left is silly. On NCAA it's not even close to being "unplayable" so using an example of a truck only turning left is .

Now had he said that everytime he wants to clean his windshield he has to pull the lever down then I'd completely understand.

The rest of that I agree we should push hard for the very best game around.

so we are still stuck in off season "players leaving early". My OD partner doesn't seem to be having problems at this stage but I keep getting "Transfer FAILED" every time... any suggestions?

$60 is a drop in the bucket of what most spend on entertainment.

I spent $55 today, and $120 on Thursday night in a bar. That's not out of line for most weeks. Hell, I lost $150 today betting on the NFL. Shit happens.

I understand that $60 is more to some than others, but it is up to each individual to decide what they can afford. If $60 is truely an investment for you, show more restraint before you buy. Do some homework first.

Trying to equate buying a game with buying a vehicle is completely off-base and ridiculous.

I buy games because I can afford to. If my budget were tighter, I'd be more selective.

That doesn't justify how horribly the release of NCAA 12 has gone, but in the end it's the buyer who pulled the trigger. Believe me, I'm as disappointed as anyone in the way NCAA 12 has turned out. This game had so much potential and entirely too much of it has fallen short. It is a shame, but it doesn't change my life at all.

Someone is really bored today. If only we could patch in a quality post in it's place. Maybe the next forum upgrade will solve this.

That was the first thing we tried... that did nothing unfortunately. Still get FAILED when I try to do anything which pretty much sums up EA's game at this point... GAME FAILED!!!
