Thanks. There's a couple of problems as I see it... first, the R&S is an offense that is best explained face to face. I've been able to help some people understand it better through posting... but I also can't see their eyes and if they are truly getting it or not. It's not a simple offense. And sending them a packet... for this offense, that would be an extensive package, and after reading Oneback's posts... I would really hate to go to all that work if it just ended up in a dumpster in back of EA studios.
The other problem is... and I realize we're just speculating here... but if they are that insecure in their job, then EA games are never going to be true to real life. Put it this way... if EA or some other company hired me to implement offenses in a computer football game, my comfort level would be like this:
R&S - 100%
Air Raid - 100%
WCO - 95%
Spread - 95%
Option - 5%
So when I got started at my new job, I would immediately seek out someone who knows the Option offense and do everything I could to have them explain, in the smallest details, every intricate aspect of that offense. Because, at some point, pride has to factor into all of this. Do we want to put out a game that claims to have the R&S offense when it really only has 3 true R&S plays and all the others have been in the game for years, or do we want to do what's best for the game?
If it were me, I would want what is best for the game. And if my boss walks over to me and says, 'Hey, people are LOVING the Option offense this year. Way to go!' I would say, 'You know, I don't know fuck-all about that offense. But I found someone who does and I spent time w/ him learning every aspect of the offense. So the credit, really, should go to him.'
I just can't understand people that are so insecure that they wouldn't do this. Would they rather tell their boss that someone helped them out or have the mess they currently have on their hands? The answer seems pretty simple to me.
Thanks for your response though. It's something to consider.
I give up...this game is broken beyond belief...I don't know how you guys keep up the naive belief that EA can fix this shit after years and years of them proving again and again that they cannot....good luck with that. Lookin forward to NBA 2K12

i think because the game was very playable for alot of peole and now the patch has caused issues in no-huddle...i think they can fix that, maybe quickly.... if not im sure people will just move on and play something else unfotunately
in any case EA has shown they do listen to the forums and try to fix stuff... obviously they've done a shitty job this time...but since i have no other NCAA game to play i can hope they will fix it
As far as I'm concerned there is no patch; as a person who rolls primarily with my beloved Coogs the inability to run an up tempo no-huddle attack renders the game unplayable. Guess I'll just have to deal with the freezes.![]()
There is only on true judge of a video game. YOU. I have no clue why you care to see a review here? It is just one persons opinion. There is a ton of information leading up to a games release, why on earth do you need some review that would end up coming out days after release. When in doubt just rent the game. Maybe I am just old and grumpy but there was a time when all you got was a Gamepro Magazine, a blurb and a couple screenshots to help make your decision. Games back then were as high if not higher then they are right now (then add inflation) and you might just see what a bargain these games are compared to the glory days.
I knew sleeping in was a good idea. The absurdity of some of the posters (insulting Ben and mocking his weight and that Game Changers are somehow part of the problem) just makes me.![]()
That makes no sense. Of course the ultimate judge if a game is myself but we come to forums to discuss opinions and ideas. Isn't that the point of the forums? And when community day guys have the game well in advance it's nice to get advanced impressions. As far reviews, I don't expect them right away but at some point they are interesting to read.
I do get sick of the backlash against criticism on this site when people day we should grateful for how games have advanced in the last 20 years. If you truly only cared about your opinion then jet ignore mine.
Or ignore mine, see it works both ways. Last I checked the Game Changers here have lives and such. Getting the game early is a nice perk but i do not expect them to go crazy with updates and info. We get plenty of it as it is. I understand there are the types of people who can only enjoy a game if the consensus also enjoy it. Those who spend more time on the forums reading about the game then actually playing it. Same goes for people who live to work on sliders trying to create the perfect sim. The reality is the majority of people who buy NCAA 12 just open it up and play it. Hey there is a patch, download, go back to playing.
It is a video game, a hobby, something that should bring you joy after a long day of work and such.
Sure we use this forum to discuss issues with the game, etc but there is a limit to what all the forum complaining is going to do.
Allow me to save you some time when next year rolls around.
NCAA 13 will be released.
it will have bugs.
it will get patched and things will still be broken.

Love this thread.
One guy going off about he repeatedly emails EA offering to come down to the studios with his notebooks, and wondering why EA has never accepted such a creepy overture.
One guy who's spent too much time in Dr. Who's time-traveling telephone booth...says the game's been out a few weeks, when it's been out TWO MONTHS.
One guy who says the patch fixed everything. Other guy says the patch fixed nothing.
One guy taking a big sphincter-stretching shit on the community day guys, then spends 10,000 words in follow up posts arguing and debating about what he said and what he meant in his original post.
One guy using the patch issue as a reason to complain about a celebration aspect touted in NCAA 11, not NCAA 12.
Yup, another fine NCAA thread! LOL

For what it's worth, I posted this "elsewhere"
This patch must be a big deal. I'm reading here and other places...it's wild...in a single day 24 hour period I've never seen so many people getting warnings, bans, etc...here and other sites.
I guess when it comes down to it, this patch has people really worked up.
Maybe it's time to take a break. It is after-all just a video game. Remember when we were kids and went outside to throw a football with friends? I never see that anymore, when my wife and I go outside for walks, we see people our age (30s) and much older, but you NEVER see kids outside. I'm 34 and I have a basketball goal on my driveway, I play outside a lot and ride my bike, maybe I'm weird but video games aren't life. They are a nice hobby but to take them to the extent of bashing people, posting their personnel/public information...that seems a bit much.
Thanks for your time.
I didn't say anything about hugging in the shower.![]()

I'll be the mature one here... first of all, the e-mails were not of a creepy overture. Secondly, they aren't notebooks, they're actual playbooks from Mouse Davis/June Jones and thirdly if you enjoy being told a certain offense is in the game and then you get the game and see it's actually represented by about 1% and you're fine w/ that... then good for you. I was taking an active role to try and get what they promoted actually, you know, in the game.
Plenty of people know my knowledge of the R&S and I have also extended my offers to some of those here who have been part of the group that went down there. Personally, I find it frustrating when we're told... Hey, we have the Run & Shoot offense in this year! Only to find out that's as false of a statement as ever has been uttered in the history of marketing.
So if you're happy w/ the game as it is, then enjoy it. If people trying to elicit change for the better for this series is something that you find funny then that tells me all I need to know about you.
