It sounds like the guy played about two games and lost both and hated it.
The writer is so lacking in intellectual curiousity that the thought that what he was seeing might not be a bug at all apparently never occured to him. It also calls into question his claim that NCAA 12 is "virtually identical to last year's offering", since this particular feature has been in the game for 3-4 years.
