I found a new type of sentinel last night too, it's kind of like a giant grasshopper that shoots a constant laser beam. I also landed on a planet where the sentinels were right on my ass the moment I got off the ship; which was interesting. I couldn't do anything without them attacking me.
I haven't seen any hostile sentries yet, unless I break into a Manufacturing Plant. Yeah that Grasshopper looking sentry is fierce. Fortunately I accessed the terminal before he had a chance to kill my character.
