Picked this bad boy up today at BestBuy. I had $20 in gift cards I needed to use and I rarely buy things from BB so I got NCAA 10 for like $12 after tax used. Found/downloaded a 10-11 roster set (that appears to be the latest set I could find) I couldn't find any original roster set. This game was pretty decent just had a few bugs that could/should have been fixed. Real shame you cannot play online now b/c I'd probably play the hell out of this game if I could find a group of guys to play with. Oh well 30 year dynasty mode here I come...

I put it in myself from time to time not really that good at it since I never really played that much but it was definitely a pretty good title. 2K8 shows its age and I can never get past like three games with all the stuff that game has on it soo much stuff in between games.
With the tourney on the horizon I threw this bad boy into the system last night and played two exhibition games. I lost both 57-45 (Oklahoma over Marshall) and 59-50 (Washington over Harvard). Even though the game is four years old it's still a blast to play when the mood strikes you. Once the kids and wife go to bed I am going to take the night off from SimCity and get back into season 4 at Arizona St. Currently I am 1-1 and play VCU next. I'm ranked #5 overall and still haven't won the big one yet... this is going to be the year!?! ... maybe
You know, I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Watching non-stop conference tournament action this week, I really have an itch to play NCAA 10. I'm thinking about starting a new career at some small mid-major and try to turn them into the next Butler/VCU.
If I win the NC this season my goal is to switch to a smaller programme like Harvard. I think the best part of this game is access to all the mid major teams (hint, hint NCAA football 14...)
Today I got that game in versus VCU. I beat them pretty good as the final was 66-39. If anyone starts playing this again just remember.... no fouls on hum player and no timeouts by the cpu. IMO this game needed one more year to be spectacular. I still hope for a reboot but sadly I don't see it in the cards.
After destroying UAB 69-44 last night I am going on the road to take on #3 Duke (with the #2) home court advantage. This is a marquee matchup as #5 faces off against #3. I have a real history with Duke (in this game) and I expect this game to be a classic. However, my strategy and drive to the net and get fouled and go to the line won't work as home court advantage in this game is MASSIVE! I really struggle hitting free throws on the road versus top 25 teams. After Duke it doesn't get any easier as then I go up against the Florida Gators.
With Amazon running a $20 additional credit promo just traded the game in for a grand total of $48. Nice little profit I made here maybe I can find the game again in the bargain bin at a GameStop or BestBuy but the offline dynasty mode just isn't that challenging and I cannot find any decent sliders. I think I'll sim out the rest of mydynasty to get the final 3 available trophies I need and mail it back in.
I still have this game but sadly rarely play it outside of an exhibition game anymore due to the freezing in the dynasty mode. Shame too, as the game was actually pretty decent for a college basketball game. Was it perfect? Far from it, but it was fun.
Still angered that EA walked away from it knowing about the lockup and doing nothing about it.
I have been lucky as the freezing issue has been almost non-existent. Just some post launch support for this game would have made all the difference in the world.
Fired this up again tonight. Good times! It's been a year since I have played this game. My first thoughts... it is so much easier to play than Live 14. Being easier to access and better organized makes it a lot more fun.

58. This was the first game of the Pac 10 schedule and it was a good one. Oregon gave up to me pretty good for the first 10 minutes but I stormed back with a boatload of 3's. With 8 seconds left SF Lockett tied it up 26-26. I was down by 12 five minutes into the 2nd half but then I changed up the pressure and defense and took control. There were a number of lead changes but with 3 minutes remaining I finally took the lead for good.
That makes ASU 10-1 on the season. My goal is to finish the campaign off before the end of next week. This year it's NC or bust as this team is stacked. With seniors graduating I have to win it as I won't have the horses next season.
If you own this game and haven't played in awhile AND you are watching the tourney... turn the game on and enjoy.
Didn't this game have game-killing freezes on the PS3 with no patch? Was the frame rate shaky?
I am aware of that issue being raised by some users. Fortunately I have NOT be plagued by this issue at all (knock on wood).
Yeah the freezing issues seemed to be random I personally never experience it either. I need to remember to pick this bad boy up again to keep my PS3 collection as there doesn't look like there will ever be another college basketball game again.
Are there any current rosters?
I don't think so because if memory served they turned off the servers awhile back. But I''m not 100% sure on that... there isn't much of an active community that plays the game anyomore (and very few posts at OS).

93-84 ... ASU was down by 17 at one point and then stormed back to take the lead 41-40 at the half. UW lost three players to fouled but ASU only shot 31%. It was a loss but it was one of the most exciting bball games I have ever played. What is the deal with playing in the state of Washington? Two games and two losses...
ASU drops to #17 with a 12-3 record.
