Played my third round (and third round toward a handicap rating) via Tee Off on Black Brook Golf Course. Shot a -2 for the entire round with 5 birdies and 3 bogeys. Had birdies on the 2nd, 4th and 6th holes, then missed a par putt on 9 for a bogey to finish 2 under on the front 9. Had birdies on 10 and 13 to reach 4 under before I shit the bed to bogey out on both 17 and 18 to end the back 9 on even par and finish 2 under for the entire round.

Did much, much better this round, including nailing a couple 30+ foot putts despite tricky green movements, but still fucked up under moments of pressure. 17 and 18 have been two of the holes to piss me off the most every time I play.

What does the future hold for The Golf Club?

This week we’ve really been looking at the future of The Golf Club, things that we can do past the May update in the short term and the long term. Things like Greg Norman Course Designer improvements, more themes, an API to help fan sites, etc. The team have as many ideas as you guys, so imagine how much we have to get through. Every round we play, even every shot we play, we come back with more ideas. It’s a great place to be in though, with so much still to do on our wish list we look like we’ll be busy way into the future.

Fourth round in the book, shot a best 3 under par. Front nine I had four birdies and a bogey to finish 3 under on the front, back nine I had three birdies and three bogeys to finish even par on the back.

Getting better at putting (I had multiple putts that either went just inches to the side of the hole or actually would go in and out or bounce off the side edge), just need to work on my approaches as they sometimes leave me screwed for a bogey. Of course having winds up to 10 MPH doesn't help too much either.

One more round and I'll have my handicap score.

Also, for my first ever time, hit every fairway in the round. Found out I did it after getting the achievement to pop at the end of the round.

Alright, I was just going to play one round and then jump on MLB The Show. Instead I said screw it and knocked out my last needed round to get my Handicap Rating.

And thank god I did! I had a MASSIVE round! Shot a perfect bogey free round, 6 under on the front nine courtesy of 6 birdies, had a birdie on the back nine to finish 7 under for the round. I have finally dominated Black Brook Golf Course.

I was making ridiculous putts on the first nine that I had never been making on previous rounds. And even when I'd dick up a shot and leave myself in trouble, I'd recover and make a great approach or I'd sink a great putt to save par.

With those 5 rounds in the books, my initial Handicap Index is officially 2.3. It would probably be better if not for that crappy +9 round I shot in my first ever round in the game.

My five rounds played on Black Brook, I went from an 81 with a 11.00 Handicap Differential, to a 77/7.00 HD to a 70/0.00 HD to a 69/-1.00 HD and finish with a 65/-5.00 HD.

OK, so now that I have my handicap rating of 2.3, what exactly is that going to effect in my future rounds?

While I watch golf all the time on TV and follow it, I have never quite gotten a grasp on the handicap rating, other than a + rating is really damn good, and something like an 18 means you really suck and basically need an extra putt every hole, I have no clue what a 2.3 is going to do when I play my next round.

For those who want to play The Masters, search for Magnolia. AMAZING replication. Dude put a ton of hours into making it. There is a course for each set of pins plus a casual set up.

I read about that after Masters' week. Checked out a few screens of it, definitely looked good

There is an Augusta one, but it isn't as good, Magnolia is much better.

Maybe I'm not searching in the correct places but can someone point me in the correct direction?

What are the differences between the downloaded "The Golf Club" vs the disk "collector's edition"...are there extra features on the collector's edition?

I'm able to locate posts that say the extra content will be released later for those who purchased the download versions but it never says what exactly the extra/different content is.

    http://www.hb-studios.com/forum/inde...4764#msg114764

I was able to search some more:

"Sorry that you got that impression but the disc version is not an add on to the digital version. It is the retail version of the game that also includes the Tropical theme and the Seasons mode. Once the digital DLC comes out in the next few days, both versions will be exactly the same."

This comes from a HB Studios administrator, and was posted 5/13/2015.

Just fired up the PS4, it shows a 1.6 gb update is ready for download for the game. I guess Microsoft is going through a validation update thingy for the XBOX 1 version.

I know EA takes it lumps for turning out incomplete products, but this in my opinion is yet another check-mark in the column for the other guys, the game was $34 when it came out, they have continually updated it and the updates haven't cost a dime. The best part is, the updates seem to be making sense, people, users, fans use the game, then request new features to make the game complete and HB studios makes the adjustments and sends out updates....wouldn't it be nice if EA did the same on their titles? I'm still amazed that the game isn't $59 like all other titles. Even new disk version at the store is $39, they seem to be breaking the mold which is nice.

With a new theme coming that will put them at 11 total themes (2 are DLC/ in the disc version).

Also a course that I just found and suggest is Pine Valley (NJ). It has been available since December but somehow I missed it, even though this is one of the courses I have wanted to play since golf games have been around. This course is often rated the #1 golf course course in America.

There was some serious work into making this one.

It's not much to shout about. Hopefully they will keep working on the season mode and get it to the point where you can use user created courses. A pretty big omission.

Still, they have been amazing in their support of this product.

No doubt and it can only push EA to be better with their post-release support. If we can have two great golf games, I will be a happy camper.

Could it be due to the July update? Has it hit yet?
