Yeah when I added him you hadn't offered a scholarship or anything, didn't even appear you were showing interest.

That all changed though as soon as I offered him and threw max points at him...you offered him the following week lol. When I started after him, thought to myself "maybe I can slide one over on Jeff and he won't realize me targeting him" haha

I'm good at the DE spot but I had a rack of points left so I started looking for guys to add reason I started to go after him.

Hahaha. That's what I think about everyone else most of the time You're right that I was slow playing him, but I was also paying attention to everyone else. I don't remember if I put max points in him specifically because you had targeted him, or if it happened to be that I finally ha some extra points to spend.

I'm not "good" at any spot, so I needed him

I picked up a nice one early in the season so I didn't need to target anymore DE's. I use to go for stocking up but in the past I had to cut either recruits or solid guys doing that lol

Arkansas State signs a big target late in the season.

With current MLB starter, Kyle Wallace, set to graduate after next season, ASU coaches were high on wanting to sign Holmes to become the heir apparent stud in the middle. Holmes is essentially a prototypical MLB with no weakness in his abilities.

With Wallace graduating, Holmes will redshirt for a year to get better before being forced into the starting role.

While Arkansas State didn't sign their stud OL that they were competing for (Sean Lane, 77OVR), they instead signed a very good project OL in Chris Anderson. Anderson has excellent size and good all around abilities including very good strength and Impact Blocking. He'll need to work on his overall blocking skills but in due time, he'll be a stud in his own right.

Anderson will redshirt for a year but will likely need to contribute heavily his second year due to graduation after next season.

Arkansas State signs 6 in the offseason to put their total to 23 on the year.

Burrell is a nice addition for Arkansas State for the future. With good speed and strength, he'll make an excellent Defensive End in the run game. His ability to get off blocks needs some work so he'll redshirt his first year on campus.

    Other offers:
    Eastern Michigan, Northwestern

Arkansas State's kicking game hit 100% of FGs in 2014, however, coaches were not comfortable with the leg strength of William White and as a result, they sought out someone that could boom the ball. That's where James Davis comes in. With exceptional leg strength, he'll be a big improvement in the kicking game and will start immediately.

    Davis received no other offers.

Wheeler is the epitome of a rush Outside Linebacker. With great speed, good strength and a good ability to get off a block, he'll be a great addition for the Red Wolves as they hope to transition to a 3-4 in 2016.

For now, Wheeler will likely redshirt to work on his abilities to find the ball.

    Wheeler received no other offers.

Almost identical to Wheeler, Reed is a perfect candidate for a rush Outside Linebacker. While Wheeler will redshirt, Reed will likely contribute right away in certain packages.

    San Diego State, Stanford

With current Punter Hunter Holmes set to graduate after the upcoming season, and with an extra scholarship to offer, coaches decided to find Holmes' replacement this year if they could. Lott has the same booming leg that Holmes does and without the need for accuracy as a punter, he'll be very good when called upon.

Lott will likely redshirt his first year on campus to increase his leg strength, though if roster spots become limited, Holmes may be cut and Lott called into early duty.

    San Diego State

What excited Arkansas State coaches about Dykes was his ability to make the tough catch with a defender right on top of him. He's not flashy otherwise, but that attribute alone may make him a star sometime down the road.

For now, Dykes will redshirt his first year on campus to work on his general receiver skills.

    Other offers:
    South Alabama

Bush will be in the mix to get carries right out the gate his first year. Coaches don't have the luxury of sitting him out for a season as there are only 2 HB's on the roster right now. Ideally would love to redshirt him but not in the card his 1st year.

Penn State was also in the mix for Bush

A couple highlights from this year's Kansas class:
McGuire is a ATH that will play SS for the Jayhawks. He has impressive top speed and decent coverage skills. He also possesses a keen ability to find the ball. Jayhawk coaches hope to redshirt him in Year 1.
Massey, whose cousin Loren already plays DE for the Jayhawks, is a very strong, but not agile, player. He has good skill at getting off blocks and should be a good DE in the Jayhawks 3-4 defense. He will redshirt in Year 1.
Normally a 63 OVR player would not be a highlight, but Chavez's blocking skills set him apart from all other HBs in this year's class. With the Jayhawks focused on the passing game, Chavez will see the field in a pass protection role. He will redshirt Year 1.
Mike Gray is a good all-around MLB, and was just the kind of player the Jayhawks needed to find this season.
