The #1 Texas Longhorns open their 2011 Pac-10 schedule with a bang....downing Oklahoma State 66-3 in Austin.
    ****
Longhorn QB Garrett Gilbert turned in a good performance....throwing for 352 yards and a couple scores.
    ****
Big back Chris Whaley ran for 135 yards and 5 touchdowns.
    ****
Starting WRs Marquise Goodwin and Malcolm Williams abused the Cowboy defensive backs all afternoon long. Goodwin caught 5 balls for 178 yards and a TD while Williams represented with 103 receiving yards off 5 receptions.
    ****
After benching senior safety-turned-cornerback Ben Wells....the Longhorn defense responded by holding Oklahoma State to 195 offensive yards, forcing 5 turnovers, and only allowing them to convert 2-10 3rd downs. Redshirt freshman MLB Jordan Hicks led the defense with 8 solo tackles including 2 for loss.
    ****
The #1 Longhorns will take off next week and will continue defending their national championship on October 1st vs the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Austin, TX....11:30am central on Fox Sports Net.

We beat Oregon State 41-27 although they did have 3 late TDs.

Dejuan Miller had 3 TDs and so did backup RB Roy Finch.
