For me, a very light week this week. I'm going to miss the entire slew of noon games on Saturday, because I will be attending the Navy-Toledo game at noon. Got tickets for the game, middle of the field, maybe 6-10 rows up from the sidelines on the Toledo side of the field.

So the earliest football I'll be watching on TV on Saturday, will probably be only second half action of the Iowa-Ohio State and UCLA-Stanford games. First full game won't be until Old Dominion-Pittsburgh at 7pm. So, for the evening on Saturday, I'll start with Old Dominion-Pittsburgh, then turn my focus to Nevada-Boise State at 8pm, checking in on Florida State-Clemson during halftime and commercials.

Unfortunately, I don't get to watch Utah State play New Mexico this week, as I don't get RSRM, unless you're able to watch it for free on the MWC Video website and it's not behind a paywall. If it is free to watch, then I'll have it going on my laptop at 9pm. Then to close out the night, I'll probably focus on Washington State-Oregon, flipping over to Oregon State-Cal during breaks and halftime (unless WSU-Oregon turns into a rout).

Best? I would put each of these ahead of USC - ND

    Army - Navy
    Ohio St - Michigan
    Auburn - Alabama
    Harvard - Yale

I will leave my Sooner's and their rivalries out of this as I am biased.

Dude, it's Harvard and Yale. The original "The Game." Not only is it a special rivalry but a third school, MIT, on numerous occasions has played a role in the game. How many rivalries have a third school involved?

Also highly recommend watching Harvard Beats Yale 29-29. Free to watch on Hulu.

Maybe you missed my point. It has nothing to do with having multiple rivals, it was about another school having an impact on two other teams game.

Should be a fun time. I've never actually been to a game at Toledo before, so it'll be interesting to see what the Glass Bowl is like in person.

I've been to Ford Field in Detroit to watch Navy-Eastern Michigan in 2006 and I was at Navy-Ohio State down in the Horseshoe in 2009. Also caught Marshall-Bowling Green in 2004 when my football coach took us all of us seniors to watch the game after our season ended (we were "visiting recruits" for the game, got to sit in the prime seats ).

So it'll be my first time at the Glass Bowl, and my first time watching Toledo in person. Should be a fun one. I just hope Navy actually shows up to play instead of rolling over and playing dead like they did against Duke last week.

Game day! About to head out the door to watch Navy whoop up on Toledo. Unfortunately a wet and cold one. Currently 40 degrees where I am, and a steady rain all morning, with it not expected to dry out until sometime after 1 or 2 PM.

    Son of a bitch.

A goddamn missed PAT costs Navy the win in double overtime.

Nonetheless, even though Navy lost, and though it was wet and cold, it was still a fun game today. A chance to watch Navy play, and a double overtime thriller at that, can't beat that.

Only drawback to the game, today is the last time I ever sit on the home side at a Toledo game. I'll stick to the visitors side, regardless of who is playing, if I ever go to another Toledo game. Jesus, bunch of drunk dumbasses.

Fans constantly bitching at the refs, one dumbass somehow dragging the government shutdown into it (something apparently about the refs being furloughed government workers or some stupid thing like that). Navy was driving for their game-tying field goal at the end, a player went down, and one dumbass was yelling about how he was faking an injury to stop the clock. Yeah, little problem there, it was a Toledo player you dumbass! One play in the second half, during a tackle, the way the Toledo and Navy player went down, the Navy player end up with his arm around the facemask and neck of the Toledo player, pulling back trying to get the Toledo player down. No flag on the play, which sent the fans into a frenzy. I'll concede it wasn't the greatest tackle, at worst, maybe a facemask penalty. If you really wanted to stretch it (and stretch it damn long), an unnecessary roughness penalty. All the Toledo fans meanwhile screaming for an ejection. More drunk dumbasses after that. One brilliant drunk dumbass calling Navy the "Shitmen", and other dumbass crap.

And then after the game, not much class from the Toledo players. After they got done celebrating out on the field, Toledo went down to the end of the stadium to the student section and their band for their Alma Mater. Navy, like they do every game, home or away, win or loss, they went down and stood silently behind the Toledo players while they sang their Alma Mater. After that was over, Navy then went down to the other end down in front of their band. Instead of returning the respect during Navy's Alma Mater, the Toledo players kept carrying on down by the student section, slapping hands with the fans, running around on the field. A couple Toledo coaches actually stopped some of the Toledo players that were running across the field right behind the Navy team and got them to stand still for the rest of the Alma Mater, but otherwise, the Toledo players gave absolutely no damn about Navy's Alma Mater.

A complete opposite of the Navy-Ohio State game from 2009. Nothing but good fans that I personally experienced, full respect for Navy, the Ohio State team went down and stood silently behind Navy during their Alma Mater, hell, the stadium announcer there at Ohio State even asked fans to please be quiet during the playing of Navy's Alma Mater, and at least where I was sitting, all the Ohio State fans quieted up and even stood there silently and watching during the Alma Mater. Toledo? Players didn't give two shits, and many of the fans didn't give two shits, sitting there chatting and carrying on and making their way up the aisles. Even Toledo's stadium announcer was still going on about Toledo's next home game in two weeks, only finally going silent on the stadium PA system mere seconds before Navy's band started playing.

The guy I went to the game with, he was a Toledo graduate, and he was sitting there after the game telling me he was actually embarrassed to be a Toledo alumni after the experience with the fans today.

So the game was great, the Toledo fans, while I've only been to a couple college football games and a couple NFL games in the past, one of the worst crowds I've personally experienced. Never sitting on the home side at a Toledo football game again (if I ever go to a Toledo home football game again).
