    2012-2013 NBA Talk

The season starts next week, so let's start the regular season thread with some good news.

Stern will step down as commish in 2014!

And most importantly of all GO CELTICS!

I'll post my prognostications that will surely be wrong soon.

Wow. Thunder trade Hardin to the Rockets for Martin and Lamb.

And the trio in Oklahoma City is dead. James Harden, Daequan Cook, Lazar Hayward and Cole Aldrich traded to the Houston Rockets for Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Martin and future draft picks.

TERRIBLE trade for OKC. Apparently they were unwilling to give Harden the money he wanted so they traded him.

i'm sure theyll come out of it alot better then Houston by seasons end...but Harden is another selfish dumb ass..4 years / over 50 million.

I don't think the trade was bad for OKC..as bad as it was for Houston.

Guess the Rockets want to sale some tickets and fake beards. Because I wouldn't count on Harden leading the team to more victories, neither he, Lin or Asik.

Meanwhile OKC gets another scorer off the bench (what Harden was) and another young player who could develop nicely.

Also with the flopping rule going into place he lost some of his value anyway.

Here's my fantasy NBA team. Took some chances on guys like Derrick Rose (8th round) and Brandon Roy (10th round)

For some odd reason Yahoo ranked Rondo 44th. ESPN was 19th, CBS was 16th. I got Rondo in the 3rd round. Gasol was my 2nd round pick.

David Stern with the facepalm of the year. Saying he hopes the victims of Hurricane Katrina are safe

The Heat should be pretty solid again this season. Their rotations could be killer if Ray and Rashard stay healthy. They played solid minutes in their 1st games. Since they will practically he shooting spot up 3's most of the time, their additions will be very productive

The Lakers fall to 0-3. Can someone get Phil Jackson on the phone? Throw as much money as it takes to get him back.

Colin Cowherd was ripping into the Lakers fans yesterday, with all the fans apparently going into full on "end of the world", meltdown mode, simply because the Lakers were 0-2, out of a 82 game season. I don't get what the big deal is. They lost 25 games last year. They're 0-3 this year but will eventually get back into the typical Lakers rhythm and things will be just fine. Now if you end up reaching 0-10 or something, then you can start worrying, because something truly is fucked in LA at that point. But 0-3 and already melting down? Lakers fans crack me up sometimes.

Considering the Lakers went 0-8 during the pre-season and now are 0-3 to start the regular season, I think it's time to hit the panic button. All kidding aside, I don't think Mike Brown is the right man for the job. If you lose 11 straight games with this roster, you need to be shown the door. Granted, it's only November 3rd but us Lakers fans aren't known for our patience. I know it takes time for a team to develop a chemistry together but they should be showing signs of improving at some point. Right now, everyone looks lost on the court.
