After losing quarterback Zach Maynard on the opening drive of the game, the Cal Golden Bears lost The Big Game to archrival Stanford, 35-22. Cal took a narrow 10-7 lead into the fourth quarter, but the defense collapsed, getting beat deep twice in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter for long touchdowns, and then backup QB Allen Bridgford's fumble was returned for another touchdown to turn the game into a rout.

Bridgford did not play as well as his numbers suggest. Although he went 16-27 for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns, two of the touchdowns were after Stanford took control of the game. In addition to his costly fumble, he also threw a red-zone interception shortly before halftime. The defense was led by DT Aaron Tipoti, who had 2 sacks and forced a fumble.

I have Oregon up this week and after fighting and clawing to get back to .500 this should be interesting. I would love to pull the upset but I fear a blow out coming LOL. I'm glad I'm the defensive Coordinator in this matchup. I just hope I can contain and get a few points from the offense early.

Not sure how it happened, but Iowa State gets a 9-7 victory at #4 Oklahoma State. Cyclones move to 5-2 on the season and are in good shape for a bowl berth.

Arizona State pulls off an upset as well against #5 Oregon 27-21.

I kept my offense in the game and they pulled it out. Overcoming 4 turnovers the defense created 5 which was pivotal in the victory. My SS Avery had 3 picks.

Congrats CDJ, big win for you and myself too. I'm 4-3 now and like the momentum I'm building.

Nice! Glad to see you getting things turned around. That's why I'm glad we played early in the year.

Lol, I'd love to have that game again but you played a great game and I'm not sure things would be much different.

I'm headed to the zoo but once I get back I'm going to update the recruiting thread with the top 15 classes and then maybe where we are as users too.

Coach Wyatt went to the dink and dunk compression offense he so loathes and what a shocker defeated the Tarholes by 2 TDs. Tried 4 passes longer than 10 yards 2 were completed for TDs 2 were Intercepted. YAWNS. will NOT throw the ball longer than 10 yards downfield the rest of the season.

In other words, no change from the 2011 offense...
