    XBox 360 controller for PC

I was wondering if a 360 controller would make a decent peripheral for arcade racers and platformers. Would it work with games like Splinter Cell / Sands of Time / Burnout Paradise? Is it more comfortable in general than using the mouse + KB for these sort of games?

Yes, the 360 controller works well for those types of games on the PC. Most of those games recommend a "gamepad" controller anyway, so might as well use the 360 controller.

If you think about it ... all the games you mentioned are on consoles, so it's obvious that using a gamepad would work for them.

So can you just use the USB Charger then to play? Never tried, but got Super Meat Boy off of Steam the other day.

You need the drivers from Microsoft, but other than that, yeah. You just plug it in and play.

Actually, if you have Windows Vista (I'm pretty sure) or Windows 7 (I'm positive) you don't need to download any drivers at all.
