Why would y'all pay $60 for Tiger but only $20 for this?
Actual authentic courses I guess.
Granted you likely can create an "Augusta" with some work and help but it will be tough to create the actual course with this game if it even let's you.
You think about why your paying $60 for EA's version of golf...authentic golfers and courses.
But then with this your paying possibly that same amount to have a custom course creator and no affiliation with the PGA name, brand.
Pros and Cons with both I suppose. I may check it out
I get wanting some of the real courses like the Majors and TPC but all the others could be generic and would anyone really complain? Plus, I assume you guys don't really buy the game to play as Tiger, Mickleson, and all the other pros. Everyone creates their own guy, right or am I wrong?
To me, it seems like a game with limitless courses would be a better value than EA's game.
I use to play solely as Tiger before I started league play with JB with our created guys. Don't play as them now but nice going up against them when I play my career mode.
Also nice playing at the actual courses and a PGA season.
Just not sure I want to buy a $60 course creator. They both will look pretty and I'm sure both their far share of game play issues no doubt once us game connoisseurs break them down.
I'll get it for my bored create a course days because I'm into golf, but these days business decisions have to be made when I get games due to cost lol. And not both for $120+. Can't roll like that anymore like in the past haha
EA's version definitely has a better create your own guy feature, the one on this game is very basic. off the top of my head maybe 5 models, and 10-20 different articles of clothing.
Your guy doesn't get any better, there aren't any stats that I remember seeing everything is based on you, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I look at the stats for certain courses and you have guys who are really good and there are alot of shitty guys...even I normally hit par or worse, so the challenge aspect is there which adds a level of enjoyment not really felt in the EA version.
I don't even remember seeing a "season" mode. The only competition you have is against the ghost players and your friends (which is a cool feature, because they don't even have to be online), everything is based around those tournaments and in theory it keeps your stats for you.
I don't think I would pay 60.00 for this game in all honesty, it gets kinda boring no matter how many course they have, the commentary is crappy ( even on EA's standards, its just some guy that is your caddy).
Playing with alot of friends might add some value to it, but you have to be a serious golf fan to really enjoy this game, I might play 6-10 holes before I get back off it. The immersion factor is simply not there, I don't think alot of people will feel connected to there player which I think will turn alot of people away from playing, it is a sim in the purest form not a game.
With all this being said they haven't updated the PC version in almost a month because they have been focused on getting the console version done to get pass cert. so I might be missing features that they haven't added yet.
Whatever I pay for it, it will be something new. The creator, format etc, all new. I am so tired of the same courses whether they ship with the game or are extra $$. Big thing for me will be, "does it work"?? If I have another bug riddled unsupported/not fixed glitch fest again................well, hulk smash :D
EA's golf game has more options is the main reason.

Honestly it doesn't look much diff from TW in terms of becoming glorified darts. For me, I'll bite depending on the price but if the accuracy is as easy as TW I'll prob bore with it easily.
There is a power meter in Tiger?
I know there use to be one with putting, but I've always turned that off. Know there was a swing meter as well but the difficult I played on never had it. Same with the aiming marker.
So in that sense it looks the same as I expect them both to on the PS4
Difficulty I'm on with Tiger isn't easy accuracy wise either, especially if you can't zoom in and don't know where your aiming.
Yeah the TrueAim on Tiger turned off zoom and made you go by feel and knowing the course.
That and the swing difficulty
There were definitely ways to make the game more difficult and not as easy as I've heard it is. And you don't need to adjust sliders to do so (I know there aren't)
I thought I was pretty decent at the game but damn feel like I suck now haha
